C42 Weak and gentle

The Silvesters businesses closed down , their assets were confiscated and they eventually faced bankruptcy.
Dorris as of yet is still missing and there is no news of her. The Silvester couple disappeared and nobody knew where they went. Mrs Silvester came from a rich family so all sorts of rumours began to spread that she went back home and her husband becoming a live-in son-in-law.

"Knock knock"

" Come in!"

" Sir, Ms Zara is here to see you"

"Let her in"

" Good morning Delvis sorry for coming without telling you it just happened unexpectedly you see I ..."

" Why did you stop? " He spoke to her gently.

" Mm nothing it's just that you keep looking at me with that gaze it's ... stop it!"

"..."

Delvis stood up and walked towards her, the gentleness in his eyes intensified, " what gaze?"

" Did you think it through? The last time you accused me of taking advantage of you what about now mmh?" He whispered softly in her ear.

He put his hands on her waist and pulled her closer. She could feel his breath on her and it made her feel vexed that she couldn't stop her heart from beating fast.

" That I  I "

" I what? tell me " He smiled at her.

Zara looked away embarrassed. "I thought it through." She muttered softly.

" What is it then"?

"My... my dad invited you for dinner tonight that's all bye!" She pushed him away grabbed her bag and ran out of his office with a blushed face.

Such a tease.

Delvis looked at his empty hands and a brilliant smile formed on his lips.

" Tsk look at you flirting in my company is this why I pay you so much dear bother?"

Startled Delvis quickly looks at the door " Sister for how long have you been there for?"

"Since midnight"

"..."

Don't you sleep?

" I hope you know what you are getting into. "

Delvis slowly nods. " Dorris is still missing I am afraid this matter won't end here because they will definitely make a come back."

" Mm"

"What about you? Aren't you going to the event the Collins are hosting? It's tomorrow and you little Fiance is probably planning something."

" You leave my matters aside and get ready to meet your father in law"

" ohh right Sis! I will take leave ,you are my direct boss I am kindly letting you know"

Everybody was talking about the Collins event.
Ivy feeling drowsy was awakened by the continuous ringing of her cellphone.

" Yes?"

" Sister Ivy where are you? I am at the event but I can't see you anyway"

" Sally! What are you doing there? Who's with you?

" I came with Luxis "

Ivy sighed. She knew her uncle wouldn't give up and eventually he used Sally to force her to show up.

Well since I am invited why not.

" I am on my way "

" Ok sister bye"

The event was hosted at Fragrance Hotel. All rooms were booked and the place was bustling with people from all different places. Rose and her son Jason welcomed everyone cheerfully but she kept frowning from time to time.

" What's wrong mom?" Jason quietly asked.

" That Ivy hasn't shown up. I wonder if Philip managed to convince her"

" Don't keep frowning she is probably stuck in some traffic or something she will eventually show up today. She has to!"

" Yes without her we won't be able to..."

"Mom!"

" Ok ok I won't say it. Come let me introduce you to more people, you have to make full use of this opportunity. Just look at the Silvesters they disappeared in just a snap of a finger. I wonder just who they provoked this time. You are smart so you must know how to deal with these foxes. In the business world every step you take must count or else all my sacrifices will be for nothing"

" I'll listen to you, mom."

Rose nods her head in satisfaction, pride visibly shown on her face.

Ivy on the other hand was seated in a dark corner dressed in a  dark blue short dress. She didn't want to meet anyone at the entrance therefore she got in through other means, found a dark corner and sat after informing Sally that she was there.

She watched as Luxis made herself the hostess and welcomed  people standing together with Jason acting like inseparable love birds. Then she glanced at Rose and looked at her for a good  5 second before looking away.

She wanted silence however trouble always comes lurking.

Luxis bumped into someone and her body came falling on Jason who extended his hand, then pulled her in a hug.
Her face turned red but she didn't get off him until she heard someone in the crowd shout out Ivy's name.

Luxis turned pale and quickly got off him after finally spotting Ivy in the dark anxiously she put on a aggrieved expression" Sister Ivy I didn't mean it. I'm sorry"

Ivy,"..."

How is this my business?

" Don't get angry alright Jason was just helping me don't misunderstand him" she continued.

" Ohh " Ivy muttered.

"..." Luxis for a second she didn't know what to say. She said so much just to receive one word. This looked like she was acting all alone.

Jason felt a tug at his heart after looking at Luxis who looked so weak and gentle. He subconsciously wanted to protect her besides he had a good impression of her. Looking at Ivy he frowned but he didn't say anything to her. He handed a tissue to Luxis who already had tears on her face.

Whispers could already be heard all over attracting Rose who came over. Without glancing at Ivy she went straight to Luxis who was in tears." Dear what happened to you why are you crying? Jason I told you to look after her but look how I find her!"

Jason just nudged his mom to look at the dark corner where Ivy sat comfortably with no expression on her face. Today she didn't put on too much make up therefore it wasn't displeasing to the eye thus bringing out her natural beauty and unconcealed charm. The colour of her dress suited her beautifully displaying her elegance, purifying aura although she tried concealing it, it still showed.
Rose was momentarily stunned but she regained her conscious and looked displeased.

" Ivy you are here! I thought you were not coming because I was looking for you but you are actually sitting here. That's okay you must be tired."

" Mrs Rose there are so many beautiful women around so I couldn't find you in the crowd"

She was impling that she was mannerless and didn't know her grounds by not greeting her elders so how could Ivy leave it at that of course she had to strike back.

Rose choked on what she was about to say. She didn't expect Ivy to be so blunt and insult her for being ugly so straightforwardly. No wonder her uncle said she wasn't easy to bully.
