C37 Arrogant frog

Delvis and Vance both sat in silence as they gazed at each other. Vance finally passed him a file which he gladly took. After going through it his gaze darkened.

"I hope you know what you have to do"Vance spoke up first." This family has a backer and it won't be easy bringing it down but... It's not impossible"

" I know that. Thanks I'll leave now" Delvis stood up and glanced at the imposing man infront of him intently. "V is sleeping inside, I can tell something is bothering him you talk to him bye!"

Delvis mood lightened up after he thought of his plan of making Vance his brother-in-law.

Vance watched his retreating back and curled his lips," He is not dumb after all"

He stood up and walked to Ivy's room and pushed the door open and there laid the beauty in her grey pyjamas hugging the pillow tightly. The blanket was kicked off and her legs spread to the side. She looked exhausted and cute at the same time with her lips pouted as if she was unhappy in her sleep.

Vance's gaze softened and he smiled. " Pig" he muttered and moved closer and sat by the side of the bed and intently gazed at her face as if trying to imprint every feature on her beautiful face. He thought back to when he first saw her, although he didn't want to admit it he thought that a face like hers was too cute when she changed expressions and the way she flirted with women was just too... too

His face darkened and instantly he became annoyed so he pinched her cheeks. She frowned in her sleep as if disturbed then went back to a deep sleep.

Dare flirt again and see how I deal with you he thought.

Ivy started smiling and changed position then muttered in her sleep, " I'll eat you next"

Luxis  sat on the couch chatting with her friends on the phone. She kept smiling and giggling now and then. Her friends kept mentioning how well she was suitable for Jason instead of her ugly cousin and only she would be the better choice bla bla...

So she was over the moon but later on she frowned because she had to think of a plan to replace Ivy in the marriage. She looked at her mother who was chatting with her best friend aunt Sarah.

" Mom I want to go shop for the upcoming event at the Collins house we should start preparing soon"

" Right right you should look the prettiest  at the event and impress everyone. What do you think Sarah?"

" Yes she is already so much prettier than that Ivy you should get her an expensive dress dear"

Aunt Liza smiled in satisfaction and immediately went to talk to her husband but came back upset.

" Mom what's wrong? What did dad say?" Luxis asked worriedly.
" He said we should ask Ivy to join us. I don't understand how he always mentions that unlucky star that ruins my mood"

Luxis wiped her previous happy expression and gritted her teeth but after some thought smiled again." It's okay mom call sister Ivy and let her join us so we can pick a dress for her after all we don't want her to wear something that will make us lose face infront of so many people it's best if we help her right?"

Liza calmed down after listening to her favourite daughter and felt better.
" Liza your daughter is so thoughtful of everyone she will definitely make your family prosper if only mine had half a brain like yours I would die happy" Sarah praised.

Luxis felt more proud of herself and curled her lips," come on mom call her"

She took her phone out to call.

" ring ring"

Vance looked at the phone ringing in his hand and expressionlessly put the phone on silent but after reading the name he immediately blocked the number.
" Too noisy " he muttered as if convincing himself that he did the right thing. He eventually got curious about the name she used to save his number and checked.

' Arrogant frog ' was displayed. His lips twitched. He had to force himself to not strangle her while she was asleep.

" President it's time to leave " a knock at the door sounded and he immediately put down her phone, rubbed her hair and after giving her one last look he walked out. " I'll see you soon little V"

" That useless girl isn't answering who does she think she is!"

" Mom she blocked you"

"..."

What the ?? How dare she.

Ivy woke up fresh and energised. Funny how she thought she heard Vance's voice but she shook her head and decided to get ready and start looking for answers. She checked her phone and saw 19 missed calls from the Crane family." Did somebody die? " She realised her phone was on silent and wondered who did her such a favour.

She walked in the Crane Mansion and a servant quickly went to inform her arrival.

" So you don't know how to answer a simple phone call huh Great Ivy what a wonderful person you are" Lisa's sarcastic remark came through when she saw her.

" Thank you lowly one" Ivy replied.

Lisa's face twisted with anger," is that how you speak to your elders?"

Ivy boredly swept a glance at her before sitting down next to Luxis ." My my is that how you speak to your youngsters?" She chuckled.
"Relax aunt I thought you were dramatising a play therefore I played along"

" Hey Luxis what a big pimple you have aren't you afraid you will affect someone's appetite "

Luxis almost lost it and gritted her teeth. She has been trying to cover up the big pimple on her face but Ivy just had to rub it on her face. Her mom stood there glaring at her but Ivy remained unfazed.

" You Ivy how could you speak to your aunt and cousin like that where are your manners?" Sarah butted in.

" Oh you are here again. Tsk tsk I always find you in this house am starting to believe that you live here. I am a bit curious, tell me the truth aunt Sarah were you ousted from your house? Did your husband finally kick you out?"

Lisa stared at her friend suspiciously and also wondered because she been coming to her house very often.

Sarah's face paled," you stupid girl what nonsense are you spouting stop trying to change the topic your aunt is my best friend so what's wrong if I visit more"

"Ivy dear" a voice came from the staircase.

" Uncle"

Philip walked in the living room and eyed his wife giving her a warning. Lisa immediately shrinked and kept quiet.

" Ivy I called you to accompany your aunt and cousin for shopping for the upcoming event at the Collins house"

"Not going" she immediately replied. She doesn't like attending those events where she has to smile and stand all night and she has never attended them since she came back so she wondered what her uncle was getting at.

" Dear I know you don't like such events but you have to start attending them since very soon you will be known as the fiance of Jason by then you will have no choice"

" I have a choice now uncle " her voice turned cold.
