For the first time Morris couldn't translate the ' Mm' into words ,he just had a feeling that someone was about to suffer.

" Let's go attend the engagement then"

" What!" Morris exclaimed in shock.

Rose got someone to take Luxis upstairs to change.

Ivy kindly apologized to the crowd like a white flower. She sounded and looked genuinely sincere that they didn't know how to react. Everyone dispersed leaving her standing with Jason.

Rose winked at her son before leaving them alone.

" Ivy I believe we haven't had a private conversation mind you join me in the garden?"

He smiled at her with gentleness and led the way.

There was a nice breeze in the garden. The flowers were beautifully blooming and gave out a nice fragrance that calmed one's mind. Jason looked like a honest upright man. He was the gentle type that many girls fell for. He was considerate and kind but Ivy knew there was more to what meets the eye.

" I am sorry about that"he apologized.

" I hope you didn't get offended by my actions"

" What actions? she is my cousin if I don't discipline her than the whole family suffers. Don't you think so?"

"Indeed."

Ivy turned her head to face him. "You have something to tell me?"

" Well we are engaged and we don't really know each other well. I just came back from abroad and it has been 11 years since I left huh ,so many things have changed. Learning business wasn't always my dream but after my dad died I had to take over the family as his oldest son. Funny even my younger brother wasn't spared and had to get into politics. We always did what our mom told us to do because to her that was honouring our father and protecting her. I guess she is right but sometimes I guess she is just too ambitious ever since dad died."

" Here I am today finally taking over the Collins Business. She is happy so am I "

He looked at Ivy who silently looked at the sky. His eyes flashed and for a moment he found her beautiful but that was quickly broken when he met her eyes. He couldn't read them. They were dark with no emotions whatsoever and that made him a little nervous?

" How old were you when your dad died?" Ivy asked.

" 14" he calmly replied.

"Do you think your father wanted you to continue in his footsteps?"

Jason squinted his eyes." Every father wants their children to follow and inherit their legacy. That's what mom had always said don't you think so?"

"Not really" Ivy brushed her hair backwards before continuing. "Parents differ in my case. I don't know much about business my dad didn't want to teach me he wanted me to stay spoiled and enjoy myself"

If Delvis was here he would clap his hands for her. No wonder you are one of the top business women you really don't know much about business.

" Haha " Jason chuckled. He looked more charming and approachable when smiling but his Noble aura didn't diminish and his eyes shined even more.

Ivy found his eyes different. Her mom indeed had good eyes he was indeed good in many aspects but after meeting Vance Lancaster nothing meets her eyes now.

"I guess we can be friends now?" He asked.

" Friends?"

Vance repeated.

" Yes president, friends" Morris said.

"That's all I heard"

"Let's go in then and meet the friend"

" Yes"

He got off the car and walked towards the venue.

" Why is president so interested in that Ivy? Is she a vixen or is she hot?" Tiger asked curiously.

Ripper knocked his head.  "What's the difference?"

" What do you know? One is malicious and the other naively attractive."

Ivy and Jason went back to the hall and she was brought to meet a man with frightening features but a mask covered his face. He was neatly dressed in a black suit with two buttons open.

" Ivy, this is  Mr Rodof  he is one of my father's long time partners he is family." He has been wanting to meet you"

" Uncle Rodof this is Ivy Cruz my fiance."

Rodof nodded and extended his hand. "Hello dear"

Ivy feeling creepy looked intimidated and timidly shook his hand " hello "

Haha" you can call me uncle too dear you are engaged to my nephew so that makes you family too" he smiled but it looked stiff.

Ivy nodded.
Rose who stood aside was very pleased with Ivy's attitude and felt happy that she was timid infront of Rodof. This showed that her uncle protected her well and she hasn't met the real world yet. This is easier than she taught. Poor child.

They chatted a bit before Rodof left with his men.
Ivy too excused herself to the washroom.

Rose took the mic and smiled brilliantly." Ladies and gentlemen I thank you for gracing my family with your presence and blessings. Today is a happy day for me because my oldest son Jason is officially taking over the Business that his father painstaking built with his own blood sweat and tears. I believe we all expect him to surpass his father and take his legacy to greater heights.

There was a loud applause in the audience.

Now I would like to announce the engagement between the Collins and the Crane family. Please welcome my son Jason and his fiance.

Jason looked all around but couldn't find Ivy anywhere.

" That's him?" ask Vance who sat in the dark corner where Ivy sat earlier. He too got in through other means. " Yes president our analysis was not wrong after all. Rose indeed has a relationship with Rodof and Jason coming back now was all planned but what does Ivy Cruz have to do with all this?"

" We will have to ask her. Let's go!"

" Aren't we waiting for Ivy?  there she is coming out. President why do you think she is covering her face with a veil is it because she is ugly?"

" The clothes are hers but that's not her"

"..." How can you tell from so far I only noticed it when she climbed on stage and stood next to Jason.

Ivy was indeed not there. That was Luxis standing in her place. She already noticed Vance when she felt his burning gaze on her. Although he looked different she could never forget that pair of hazel eyes so she fooled Luxis well that wasn't really fooling that was a request. Yes she requested her to go pretend and tell them that she felt sick after she was found out.

She hurriedly got into the car after calling the uncle driver.

"Uncle drive fast really fast. We must get out of here. Gosh that was close" she patted her heart.

" Yes Ms. The gentleman was right. You are indeed in a hurry.

" A gentleman? What gentleman?" After she asked she heard a voice next to her.

" Is it fun?"
