Time has flown by since Munnin snatched you away, and Loki still has no idea where you are. Even though he sensed your presence, he was unable to pinpoint your precise location.Everyone was busy with tasks that might lead to you being located, but they were all keeping their fingers crossed for Odin, who was still searching for his map. An anxious Loki paced back and forth, muttering curses at his father for taking too long. But after what seemed like an eternity, Odin entered the hall where everyone was waiting.
"Well, where is he?" Loki snapped, peering down at the map. "You told us you knew where your ravens were at all times!" Loki, enraged at more of his fathers lies.
Odin claimed that he possessed a unique map that revealed the location of those he believed required surveillance. Although he had never needed to track his ravens, he made sure they were under watch. Yet when Odin unrolled the large enchanted map on the table, he was shocked to see no pin indicating Munnin.
"This has never happened before, I've always been able to see him, I don't understand." Odin squinted at the map, as if hoping to see something he had missed.
Frigga reminded him, "It's never occurred before because you've not needed to find him. You haven't looked at this map in many hundreds of years. It's been tucked away collecting dust, you almost couldn't find it."
Loki's panic sets in and he begins to obsessively replay Munnin's words, hoping a clue would pop up.
"What about his lair? The cave were we found him last time." Thor asks.
Loki scoffed at Thor's simple mind, "Oh, come now, brother, he wouldn't be so foolish as to go back to a place we would search first. I've already sent guards to that location."
Loki didn't intend to sound so harsh, but his heightened state of tension had turned his concerns into irritability.
"Then what about Muspelheim?" Thor adds, hoping Loki would at least consider his words this time.
"The fire realm?" Frigga muses, "He would have a hard task getting there without the help of Heimdall and the Bifrost."
"But not impossible for a highly skilled raven," Loki asserted, "his years of scouring the lands for Odin likely brought knowledge of portals—he wouldn't need to use the Bifrost." Loki cast a curious gaze towards Huggin.
"We do know of portals, but portal jumping is dangerous even for us." Huggin replied. "Besides, a mortal wouldn't survive such a lapse through space, so it is safe to assume he wouldn't risk it."
"But he did mention the fire realm; he wanted Mina there. So that must be where he went." Thor said, feeling fairly certain that this is where they needed to look.
"He only wanted her there because he knew I couldn't follow, he wanted her alone, for me to never be able to rescue her." Remembering Munnin's sick motives made Loki even more angry.
Odin continued inspecting the map, mumbling under his breath, "Where are you, Munnin?" He was entirely absorbed in determining whether his map was just broken or if Munnin had cleverly found a means to avoid being monitored.
After throughly pondering the next step, Loki exclaimed aloud, "We must go to Muspelheim!"
Odin, now awake from his musings, slams the map down in anger, "You will not! I have a truce with the fire demon who resides in Muspelheim. He wouldn't break that truce and hide a wanted enemy of Asgard!"
"But, Munnin is not a known enemy; he is, in fact, your raven and people know him as such. Since the fire demon would be unaware of his recent deceit, he would be able to enter and stay in Muspelheim without issue." Huggin explains.
