You rushed your bubble bath, knowing you had little time to get into town and meet Kai.

You roughly remembered the way. You've been to Bergssons bookstore before with Huggin, so you felt somewhat confident you wouldn't get lost.

You quickly dress, but as you brush your hair you hear commotion outside. You open the balcony doors and run out, just catching Thor, Huggin and Loki before they left beyond the palace walls.

Thor and Huggin galloped through the gates but Loki stopped his horse just before leaving, sensing your gaze.

To your surprise he turned and looked your way, staring at you on the balcony.

You waved and gave him a smile, yet he didn't smile back. His face was woeful, he looked ......sad.

Your stomach twisted in knots, and a sudden nervousness washed over you, your instincts telling you something was wrong.

Your waving slowed and your smile faded, as you stared into his gloomy eyes.

Loki quickly forced a grin noticing your downhearted expression. He smiled sweetly at you, letting you believe everything was okay.

You returned a meek smile but felt confused.

You thought perhaps he was nervous to leave you, anxious about Odin's mission.

Why else would he show sadness?

He waved, and this time he was the one who blew you a kiss. You caught it, bringing the kiss to your lips.

Loki turned and continued his fast stride outside the palace walls. His mind consumed with thoughts of you as he caught up to Thor and Huggin.

He rode in silence, his heart heavy.

"Come on Brother, you lag behind. You can't be missing your Kitten already" Thor jokes

Loki didn't respond to the taunt, or the fact that Thor mocked his favourite term of endearment for you. Kitten.

Huggin looked at Thor, and both now sensed something was wrong. They slowed their horse, allowing Loki to ride within the middle of them.

"Brother, something is on your mind. Do you worry for the danger ahead? You can go back if you wish" Thor says sincerely.

"I don't think it's our mission that consumes his mind. Only one person can cause that pained expression" Huggin asserts.

Loki cracked the reigns of his horse and sped up, passing Thor and Huggin. He just wanted to wallow in his thoughts and not be bothered with questions or shared emotions.

His horse suddenly stopped, and he sighed seeing a large broken tree blocking his way. He growled frustrated before using his magic to toss the wood half a mile into the open.

"Woah, calm brother. What did that tree do to you?" Thor joked, trying to lighten the tense mood.

"It got in my way. And I dispose of those that get in my way" he says angrily.

His wrathful words reminded him of who he was, the God of Mischief. It ignited an idea.

He decided to forget about Odin's mission, his new assignment was more important.

He knew the time, and the destination of your secret meeting. Stalking you from afar seemed the only logical option instead of stewing in his agonising mind.

Should he find Kai a threat, he'll simply dispose of what got in his way. He wasn't going to risk losing you to anyone.

"You two go on without me, I have things to do" Loki orders.
