Evelynn forced open her heavy eyelids. She could hear people awake around her, voices talking quietly, lights being turned on.
She wanted to stay in bed forever—that was the best nights sleep she had in so long.
Her tired, hazy eyes met Bellamy's as he looked down at her. He was now dressed back in the stolen guards uniform, eating a granola bar on the edge of the pull-out couch.
"Good morning crazy," he teased.
She yawned through her smile, remembering that stupid nickname, "Shut up, freckles."
"Good, you're awake," Maya remarked, coming into the room. She held out some folded clothes towards Evelynn, "You can have these. My bathroom is over to the left whenever your ready to get dressed."
Evelynn sat up and graciously accepted the new clothes, remembering how bloody her previous dress had gotten after the massacre on level five.
Although she wasn't really picky about clothes, she appreciated Maya giving her pants. The dresses she had worn previously were very cute, but not super functional, especially as they were heading towards war.
"Alright Bellamy, you ready?" Maya turned.
Bellamy nodded, scarfing down the rest of his breakfast.
"Wait, where are you going? Let me come." Evelynn jumped up quickly.
"No, stay here. It'll be safer," Bellamy told her, "I'm going to the armory to get the kids on level five some guns, Maya is going to meet with some of her people to get us more help."
"I can't just sit around and do nothing," Evelynn told him with exasperation.
"Hey Ev, you've done more than enough. Take a break." He walked closer to her, "Besides, you walking around this mountain with either of us would make us even more likely to get caught."
He was right. Clenching her jaw, Evelynn nodded.
Bellamy pulled her into a hug, and placed a firm kiss on her cheek as they pulled apart, "Fox is in the kitchen with Vincent and wants to see you. Get dressed and eat something. I'll be back soon."
Evelynn pulled him into another quick hug, "Be safe."

Not 15 minutes later, Bellamy burst through the front door while Evelynn, Fox, and Vincent chatted over breakfast.
Confused, Evelynn turned towards him, "Hey, what—"
"Cage took Maya to level five, he's trying to get the others to surrender," Bellamy said quickly, looking at Vincent, "She has 20 minutes of oxygen. I can get her out through the trash chutes, draw me a map of how to get there."
