Evelynn jolted awake, her body automatically sucked in a deep, harsh breath of air, causing her to cough. She gasped and blinked fast to adjust to the glaring lights.

The empty, cold environment around her seemed very unfamiliar and she immediately felt herself start to panic.

Then a face came into view. With his pale complexion and dark gelled hair, her memories began to flood back.

She tried to move, but her ankles and wrists were restrained to the chair she was in. Evelynn began to writhe around in her seat trying to break herself free as the man just watched in horrifying amusement.

"Let me go!" She shouted, frustration and fear causing her face to flush.

The man smirked, "No,"

She screamed as she pulled on her restraints more.

The man ignored her obvious anguish, "Where are my manners? My name is Cage Wallace."

Her body went still, and he must've noticed as his face grew into a grin, "The President's son."

She glared up at him, "Let. Me. Go."

He leaned over to be at eye level, pulling his face in front of hers, "No."

Evelynn took the chance. Sneering, she spit in his face. Cage jumped back and pulled out a handkerchief to wipe his face.

She felt some of the fear in her dissolve, feeling a little more powerful and proud of herself.

After recomposing himself, Cage went into interrogation mode, glaring her down, "How did you find the harvest chamber?"

"I don't know," Evelynn squinted back at him, "It wasn't really hidden. I saw people with bloody tubes, got curious, and then I followed the pipeline."

"Don't lie," he spat, "How did Clarke contact you? Did she leave you a message? A map? Who else knows about the chamber?"

Evelynn was even more confused, "What does Clarke have to do with any of this?

"Before she escaped," Cage said slowly to degrade her, acting like he was talking to a child, "What did Clarke do to help you find the chamber?"

Evelynn copied his slow speech and simplified her words for him, "She didn't tell me anything. I found it all by myself. Besides, I didn't even know Clarke escaped."

There was so much new information that was being poured on her, it was overwhelming. Part of her really hoped Clarke was okay. And yet, part of her felt abandoned.
