she honestly felt so stupid that she had nowhere to hide her money. she felt so stupid that though she hides it away, he still finds it.

she felt so stupid that she made so much yet still only had so little left at the end.

he was starting to take more and she was starting to use her daily money for her ballet lessons.

"i'm sorry, i'll have the money next month, i swear," she whispered at the receptionist who sighed. "i know darling, but you really haven't paid for your lessons at all. this can't continue, you have a week, i'm sorry,"

el nodded slowly. "i understand, i'm sorry. i won't make it hard for you," she held back her tears as she walked out of the studio.

today was her first day as mikes assistant and she was so nervous.

when she arrived, she had lucas walk her through everything since mike wouldn't do so anyways.

when she sat down, she started on the work she was given. typing up contracts.

the good thing was she was using it to block out the fact that she couldn't afford ballet anymore.

"ives, come in," mike's voice came through the telephone on the table and she quickly shot up and went to his office.

she knocked once then entered. "did you need me for something, sir— mr wheeler?" she corrected herself.

he motioned for her to come closer so she shut the door and went closer.

"how's first day?" he asked and she was taken aback since she never thought he would ask.

"um, good. i'm getting used to all the office-y stuff.." she trailed off and he hummed, "good. you know lunch is off in ten minutes, help me arrange a meeting with mr johnson and you may go,"

she stayed standing which made him raise an eyebrow, "need something?"

she cleared her throat and asked in embarrassment, "how do i do that exactly?"

"call his assistant or send an email." he replied, "now go."

she nodded, turning on her feet and thinking she'll just ask lucas questions from now on.

"ives?" he asked as she stopped by the door. "yes, mr wheeler?"

"the meeting summary this morning you did, it was okay," he said and she smiled widely and gave a nod with her body bent a bit. "thank you mr wheeler," she said with a little excitement before exiting the office.

and when the doors closed, he let out a small tiny smile.

"ives, a coffee,"

the voice interrupted el out of her daydream by her small desk and she was quick to stand up to go make a coffee in the pantry.

making him a black coffee, she grabbed a little milk and sugar and held it as she walked into his office.

she set down the cup on his table then the milk and sugar aside just in case he wanted it.

"get me the johnson's marketing files from the last few years," he said, not looking up from his laptop and files.

she stopped, "what's that?"

"it should be on your desk if mary did her job well," he grunted and she quickly rushed out to find them.

"mr wheeler, there's so such files," she panicked, starting to think if she had lost them.

"i'll find them—"
