"el, you're late!" someone shouted as she rushed through the door.
"sorry," she apologised to whoever it was, then ran to the back to change since it was almost eleven in the morning.
"look who it is," a girl laughed as she arrived at the changing rooms of the club.
el worked at a nightclub because it earned quite a lot of money. she wasn't a stripper though, no. she was just a dancer and stripping was the line she would never cross.
dancing was already a lot but it earned a lot so she had to deal with it.
with no college degree, this is what she had to stick with.
quickly, she hid away in the back where her locker was then proceeded to change out of her sweatshirt and jeans into her most popular black outfit that's only available in the afternoons.
not many people goes to a club in the morning or afternoons so she uses that to attract her customers to come back.
also her boss's idea.
but if it earned her some money, she didn't mind.
"fuck," she quietly hissed, grabbing some makeup from her bag to quickly cover the forming bruise on her neck.
"el! let's go!"
"i'm coming!" she shouted back, shoving all of her stuff into her locker then fixing her hair in the mirror.
it looked decent enough and no one would focus on her hair anyways.
her hair was long. she dyed it jet black and it reached her lower back, almost her butt.
she had a headband on right now, with her hair pushed back but with a lot of volume so there was like a small bump on the top.
"i'm sorry, i'm sorry," she apologised and ran past lucas without a glance so she wouldn't need to be yelled at.
"hey," he called out after her and she quickly stopped and turned around slowly with her gaze on the ground.
"you got a little blood on your neck," he mumbled and she quickly roamed her neck with her hands in hopes of getting it off.
"they wouldn't notice it," she decided and ran off to the stage because a few people were waiting.
with a deep breath, she made her way up the stage and situated herself with her usual prop.
the black chair.
she was just a dancer, and in order not to get fired by being old news to these customers, she needed a good prop and a good routine.

"el, come into my office,"
"but it's lunch, sir," el whispered but the office door was already opened.
slowly, with a nod, she walked into the dark room. the door shut behind her and he motioned for her to sit down.
but she denied and chose to stand. "sir, what did i do wrong?"
"you need to quit being a waitress as well. you're a dancer, what are people going to think? you already aren't a dancer like the others," he started and she nodded.
that was true. because she didn't strip here yet had the most customers, she assumed which that was why she was never fired.
"i'm sorry, i just wanted the extra—"
"you'll get extra money by finally going to the back rooms."
she looked up, shaking her head, "no," she stood her ground but that was quickly over when his gaze intimidated her.
