"do you actually cover the amount of the dress?" el couldn't help but ask again as she tried on her third dress of the afternoon.
mike looked up from his phone as he grunted from his seat.
el furrowed her brows. why does he always make that angry sound?
he only rubbed his temple then uncrossed his legs, "yes. i have said it multiple times, yes. what do you think about this one?"
el shrugged. "it's the cheapest one, it'll be fine."
"no," he shook his head, "you'll buy one you like." he said sternly, "you don't like you like it, go try the next one."
el nodded slowly. "you don't really have to be here, mr wheeler. lucas could've accompanied me, or i could've just—"
"shut up and go change,"
she nodded again and rushed off to go change before he got mad at her.
"el," he called out before she shut the curtain. "yes, mr wheeler?"
"try on the black one." he only said before she shut the curtain and picked up the black dress to change.
the black dress was just a long tight slip dress with spaghetti straps and a low cut. the fabric was silk and so comfortable to el that she never wanted to take it off.
slowly, she opened the curtain and walked up to the mirror.
mikes hand that was holding his phone dropped, and he watched her up and down with his jaw slowly dropped open.
the dress hugged her figure perfectly and mike never saw how perfect she was in a dress like this.
"what do you think?" el asked him, locking eyes with him through the mirror.
"this one," he said, rubbing his jaw, "yeah, this one,"
she nodded then saw her arm and neck through the mirror, "i'll try to hide these, i promise," she informed, afraid he would be mad if she costed him a business.
he didn't reply and she thought he wouldn't so she began to head back to her changing room.
"don't if you don't feel comfortable," he mumbled, looking at her and she forced a little smile before shutting the curtain.
when he saw that the velvet curtain shut, he leaned back in his seat and threw his head back. "fuck,"
"need another drink, sir?" one of the staff asked and mike mumbled something under his breath.
"please. something fucking cold,"

el didn't even bother to fight for her money back, she knew he would take it and it wasn't like she could afford lessons anymore so it didn't matter.
when she arrived at work, she continued to ice her fingers that still hasn't healed yet and looked around to see if anyone was around before checking on her fresh cuts.
fuck, that's why they burned so much.
she grabbed some tissues and dabbed up some blood that was still leaking out.
what she didn't know was that lucas and mike were just in his office.
"i thought you wanted his address," lucas wondered but mike shrugged. "she was crying, i want to know why. that's more important to me."
"she said something about dancing at night and i know it's not about the club. so go find out where she went to and come back," mike told him and lucas sighed. "the challenges you give me."
