"stay still," his voice was so loud, yet so quiet in the dark room.

her wrists tugged on the cuffs, whimpering as she felt the burn on her naked back.

immediately after she got discharged from the hospital, she knew this would happen. she predicted it.

the cocaine forced into her was apparently for him to test out if it was real, was what he said. she knew he always used her if he needed any testing or to make sure about anything.

and she knew how much he loved laughing and watching her burn in pain.

it had gotten to the point that she was kind of used to the burns. she knew she couldn't cry, couldn't disobey.

so she just let the burn proceed, the whips along with it as she let out occasional winces and grunts when he does a numerous amount at a time.

and it was times like this she wished she didn't make that promise to survive and have just jumped off that building 4 years ago.

"what can i get for you?" the bartender smiled as el walked into the bar a few streets away from the club.

"anything strong." she only said and he nodded and went to make her something as she sat on the stool tiredly.

a few shots set in front of her and she quickly gulped then down one by one. was it smart of her to waste her money on this instead of her upcoming meals?

no.

but she needed this. she needed something else to drown out the pain. both physically and mentally.

"goddamn that was fast," the bartender said and el looked up to realise that the bartender had changed to a girl instead.

"more." she whispered in a small voice and the girl hummed. "you sure you can take it? there's pervs all around, i don't want you walking out drunk as hell,"

el shrugged. "who cares anymore." she only said before accepting a few more shots.

"what's the occasion?" the redhead asked her and el only sighed before mumbling. "surviving yet another night like hell,"

"i feel you,"

el shook her head. "i'm talking the hell of hell," she said as she felt a tear roll down her left cheek.

"hm," she hummed, "that bad?"

"always," el nodded before laying down on the counter top, gulping down yet another shot till she couldn't even taste the taste of alcohol anymore.

the night continued of el just drinking down whatever was placed in front of her. she needed something to numb everything and somehow, the alcohol did just that.

"how much?" she slurred when she finally had had enough and she either was too drunk or she had no energy to pick up another glass.

"on the house," the redhead smiled and el was too tired to argue with her so she just nodded and stumbled out of her seat.

her hand covered her mouth as she felt a certain type of nausea that told her it was from the alcohol and not something else and when she was outside, she dropped down to the floor against a light pole.

her eyes were slowly shutting, she wasn't sure why the pain was back when the alcohol suppressed it the whole night but it was, and she wasn't sure what to do.

"hey," she heard someone murmur before she was picked up by both sides, probably by two different people.

but that was the last thing she remembered.

when she woke up, she found herself curled up on a couch with a brown blanket over her. she didn't recognise the couch though, she had no idea where she was.

she jerked up, breathing heavily. where was she?

"relax, you're at the club," someone walked in and she looked up and noticed it was the redhead who served her drinks at the bar.

"i'm max, by the way," she introduced and held out her hand for el to shake, who took it with hesitation.

"hi," she whispered which made max smile, "here eat something, you look pale as fuck," she chuckled handing el a fruit bar.

"oh, um, im allergic to blueberries," el said, "and it's fine, im not hungry anyways. i think i should head home now," she rubbed her eyes and continued to wonder what room she was in.

"do you have a ride?" max asked, dumping the food aside and headed for the door which made el think she was leaving her alone.

"lucas! get something that wasn't fucking blueberries, you stupid little shit!" max screamed out which made el wince.

"i seriously think i should get going," el dropped the blanket off of her shoulder and stood up with a stumble.

"no, you—"

"don't bother max, you can't force her to do things she doesn't want to," mike came into view with a taunting smirk.

el refused the urge to snap back at him. she already had done that at the hospital and she honestly was prepared for mike to come find her and yell and punish her.

never disrespect men. treat them with respect or else this is what you get.

biting down on her tongue, she only avoided his gaze then decided to walk past him and out of the door.

"way to go, dickhead," max shoved him as he scoffed, watching el turn the corner. "i said watch her, not bring her here."

"what else was i supposed to do!? she blacked out!"

"you know how many people come here to track her down? how many times i got her out of danger without her knowing?" mike asked, a scowl on his face.

"yet you want her to be a stripper here," max remarked.

mike didn't respond. "wasn't my fucking plan."

"yeah? then what is it then, stupid shit?" max asked before walking away from him with a scoff to go find el.

"el!" max shouted as el turned around outside. "yes? sorry, i just want to get home,"

"i'll take you," max suggested but el was quick to shake her head, "i'll be okay. it's a close walk, thank you for the offer though. i'll see you around, max. thank you for tonight," el smiled before walking away quickly so she couldn't catch up.

"told you, ginger," mike came out with a smirk.

"shut the fuck up, asshole. i want to beat the fuck out of you right now because you treat women like fucking shit!" max screamed in his face as loud as she could before shoving him out of the way to walk back into the club.

"i don't treat her like shit,"

"you do and now that she quit, you know how much you fucking need her. look at this place, i can her a pin drop," max scoffed.

he furrowed his eyebrows, looking around the almost full club. "sure, ginger. sure."

she rolled her eyes, "asshole."
