"need a ride?" mike asked as he locked his office door and walked right to el's desk.

she checked the time then realised what the time was before shaking her head. "i can walk,"

"i don't know if you're walking to get some exercise or you just walk everywhere for fun but that's enough walking for you." he stated, "grab your things, let's go,"

she furrowed her eyebrows, "but you asked—"

"it was rhetorical," he said and headed for the elevators with her following, "you're getting that ride regardless,"

she didn't respond and instead, she went to stand next to him. "you don't own the world, sir,"

"never said i did," he straightened his suit and fixed his sleeves as she turned her head to look up at him. "your actions did,"

he hummed in response and shrugged.

just as she was about to speak up again, the lights of the elevators turned off and the whole elevator shook which made her gasp loudly.

"what the fuck," he grumbled, moving forward to slam on the emergency button.

"what was that?" el asked as he continued to slam on the button till someone responded, "the elevators stuck,"

"oh great," she breathed out. "i thought you were rich, what kind of fucking elevator is this?" she panicked.

he gave her a look over the shoulder.

"sorry," she said, "i'm panicky right now and i kind of babble when i'm scared and i—"

"shut up," he told her and she quickly did so before moving to lean back on some railings.

"fuck, where are the security guards!?" he exclaimed in anger, continuing to press on all the buttons so something would happen.

"i'm going to fire— you good?" he turned back to look at el who was now sitting on the ground.

"great," she wheezed, "just having a panic attack but i'm amazing," her body continued to shake as he went to kneel down to her.

"okay, breathe and stop talking," he said which made her suck in a breath, "great advice," she whispered as he held her hand, "breathe in and out. stop wheezing." he murmured, "one and two.." he whispered, stroking the back of her hand in a comforting way.

slowly, she began to calm. focusing on his counts to maintain her breathing again.

"you good?" he asked and she nodded weakly, still grasping onto his hand and actually even tighter.

"what happened?" he asked her as she adverted her gaze from the wall across from her, to him.

"i was locked in a closet." she only said, "a very dark, small, closet."

"mason, stop!" el cried as he pushed her in head first, making her head slam against the wood but she didn't care.

he cackled and turned her around to tie her arms up so she couldn't move and then he opened the closet door wide and called his friends in to see.

it was humiliating, she was humiliated. she was beat up, her clothes were torn and she was now tied up like a toy.

she avoided their gazes and only silently cried as they laughed and took pictures of her like this.

but she couldn't do anything, and she couldn't anything when he shut the door closed.

he waited for her to continue, and at first she didn't plan on it but somehow she found comfort speaking to him about it.
