"i cannot believe this," el grumbled out, stuffing her notepad into her uniform apron in the empty kitchen since she found a job at the diner.

she was lucky. she saw someone walk out and asked if they needed a waitress so she started working on the spot.

she was so happy she got a job, though it wasn't paying much.

he grinned at her, "hi el, new job?" mike taunted her as he walked up to her and into the empty space.

"what are you doing here? i quit,"

"i know you did. i just need to check on my restaurant," he smirked, "you know this job doesn't pay as much though. perhaps if you beg, i might just let you back,"

"never,"

he tsked, moving closer to her, "we all know how much you need that high paying job."

"not if you make me do such thing," she shook her head, "that is a line i will never ever cross. you need to respect that,"

he hummed, "perhaps i wouldn't make you do it,"

she froze. "what?"

"mh, yeah.. so beg, honey. beg and i just might let you back in," he leaned against a counter and popped a cherry into his mouth.

she stared at the cherry he stole. those were for the milkshakes.

her eyes close as she debated in her mind. beg, just do it. it wouldn't be your first time begging a man.

no, don't beg, it gives him the power.

but what if he hurts me?

"the offer only stands for three more minutes," he pushed her.

she needed that job. she needed the money, the tips to barely survive. she needed it.

so bad.

slowly, she let out, "i do need that job. and if you won't cross that line.."

"nah," he cut her off, "on your knees,"

"you want me to beg on my knees?" she exhaled and he nodded, "mh, go on," he goes to steal another cherry.

she stood there thinking for a whole minute and he waited and waited till...

her knees slowly drop to the ground and she kept her gaze on the floor. "sir, i.. i just need the job," her eyes closed in humiliation.

"good," he laughed as she felt tears rolling her cheek.

that's what he always did to get his way. humiliation. it's all he ever did, all he was ever used to.

"crying's not gonna help you, darlin'," he placed a hand on her head as she moved her head away. "don't touch me, sir,"

"pack up your shit. i'll see you tomorrow morning," he said to her before leaving the kitchen area and leaving the diner.

allowing el's tears to flow down quickly and for a chocked sob to escape her. if she didn't need money for lessons and money for his meals, she wouldn't have begged.

"you need to stop yelling at people," lucas said which made mike look up. "i didn't yell at people. i yelled at the assistant specifically,"

"same thing. if she gets on your nerves then hire someone else."

"they're all the fucking same! fucking annoying!" he shouted before groaning and turning back to his files.
