It has been a two weeks since the party and of the girls calling me 'Jam jam'. The boys don't know the reason-thankfully- but they sometimes call me Jam jam when they really wanna tick me off.

And it works.

It was finally the last day of school before the holidays and everyone wants to go on a road trip. I honestly thought it was a great idea, I just don't know if my parents thought the same.

I anxiously chew my pen and tap my foot, constantly checking up on the time. The beautiful sound of the bell rings in my ears and I sigh in relief, quickly stuffing my books in my bag. I jolt from my seat as Clove rushes to my side and clings onto my arm, squeezing it.

"Finally! No more school for two weeks" She squeals and I giggle as she starts jumping up and down in excitement. "So, I told my parents about the trip and they said yes!"

"That's great Clo. Now I guess I just have to tell mine" I sigh. What if they say no? I mean, my mom is pretty overprotective of me and never let me go out of the same city without her. And she probably never will.

Clove must of noticed something in my facial expression because she places a hand on my shoulder and gives me a warm smile.

"Don't worry Jess. I'm sure they'll say yes"

"I don't know. My dad would say yes but my mom is to protective of me" I shrug but still giving her a small smile at the end. "But if they do say no, go on the trip without me"

She looks at me as if I was crazy. She opens her mouth to say something but I quickly interrupt her. "Clove, just do it" She's hesitant at first but finally gives in.

She nods slowly. "Fine. But it's not going to be the same without you"

I smile as we continue walking to where the rest of our group was.

I step into the house and bump my bag to the side. I speed walk into the kitchen and find both my mom and my dad.

"Hi sweetie" Mom greets and she pulls me into a hug. "How was your last day?"

"It was okay. But, I do have something to talk to you about"

My last sentence catches my fathers attention and he's head shoots up from the newspaper he's reading. Mom just continues staring at me with an almost scared look but a hint of confusion.

"So, um.. well I was wondering-"

"Yes?"

"If maybe I could... Ahhh-"

"What is it Jessica?"

"Can I go on a road trip with my friends for a few days...?"

They both look relieved that it was only that, but my mother still has a look on her face.

"I don't know Jess" She says. But before she could continue her sentence my father speaks up.

"Well I think is a great idea" He smiles at me and I hug him tight. As I let go I step closer to my mom.

"Mom, please let me go" I basically plead. "Its not like I'm moving to another country and its only for a few days. I sometimes have to put up with you guys being away for two weeks"

She sighs while my father gives her a look. "C'mon Jan"

"I just- is there going to be parent supervision?"

"Well no" I tell her, almost scoffing "But mom, we're seventeen! Please"

She bites her lip slightly and looks down at the floor before saying,

"Fine. You can go"

Those word make me jump for in excitement and I squish the two into a hug. I keep repeating thank you's, making the both of them chuckle.

"Alright dear, just when are you going?" Dad asks.

"Umm, I think it's in two days? I'll have to check up with Josh on that one"

"Hmm, I like Josh. I think you and him could really hit it off" My mother winks, causing my checks to burn a bright crimson colour. I quickly walk out of the kitchen with out saying another word and to my room.

I text Josh to ask about the trip but we end up talking about other random things until dinner. My parents decided to go on a date night, so it was just Michael and I at home. I tell him about the road trip, just for a heads up and of course being the protective big brother he is, he starts ranting about random dangerous scenarios.

After he finishes his lecture, I speak up and roll my eyes. I swear, he gets this from our mother.

"Mike?"

"Yeah?"

"Shut your face, okay?" He grumbles something under his breath as he sits down on the couch. "Seriously, non of that is going to happen. I swear, you and mom worry to much"

"Well, can you blame us? You're my only sibling, Jess. God knows what I would do if you got hurt"

"I know Mike" I say softly as I give him a hug. "I'm going to bed now, okay?"

He just nods and turns the TV on again. I walk up the stairs and face plant on my pillow, instantly falling asleep.

-Two Days Later-

I get a quick text from Cassie, saying that they're almost at my house. Once reading it, I grab my bag from upstairs and make sure that I brought everything. I hug everyone goodbye as a honk is heard from outside. I fumble with my shoes and quickly run outside. I slide the door open and sit in a seat.

"Hey" I smile at everyone as greets me. "So, where are we going first?" I ask Logan, since he's the one driving.

"It's a surprise" He sings and we all groan. The engine starts to roar and we're off.

It has been two hours and we still don't know where we're going. Well, no one does except Logan. Freaking jerk, not telling us where we're going.

I decide to get a little nap, but I don't have anywhere to place my head.

I hate the middle seat.

Josh must of noticed me trying to get comfortable because he leans near my ear.

"You can sleep on my shoulder if you want"

I nod and give him a smile. I lean my head on his shoulder. He puts his head on top of mine and I close my eyelids with a grin.
