Ginny
The last thing she remembered from Malfoy Manor was being knocked out by Lucius Malfoy. She was lying on a soft bed, surrounded by luxury she could only dream of. Was she back in the Manor? Or in another pureblood's mansion belonging to another rich wizard that the Malfoy's knew? The room was designed in soft blues and golds, very Ravenckaw in design if it was bronze, but this was pretty too, she had to admit.
One of the bedroom doors opened, and in walked...Hermione, dressed in a nice cream colored peasant top over blue jeans and beige ballet flats. Her hair was in a nice up do, and she had some nice makeup on, and a light floral perfume she couldn't place. She looked...good, really good.
Ginny frowned, remembering that her best friend only liked wizards. She tried daring Hermione once to kiss Angelina Johnson, and Hermione didn't react to the kiss at all. Hermione smiled, as she sat on the edge of the bed.
"Hey, you."
Ginny grinned. "Hey, yourself. If you wanted to get me alone, you could've just asked me, dork."
Hermione laughed, "I'll be sure to hit a bludger your way then. How are you feeling? You've been out of it for two weeks now."
Ginny's eyes went wide. "T-Two weeks?! But, what about the battle, and Harry? And the Malfoy's and stuff? I mean, Draco isn't my favorite person and all, but when he saw me being brought in, we slowly became friends."
"Friends? Or..."
"Eww, friends!" Ginny laughed. "You know I've always been into Harry, and um...the Patil twins sometimes."
Hermione grinned. "Yes, I know. Are you feeling alright? I can get the house elves to get you whatever you want."
Ginny shook her head. "No, I'm okay. Where the heck am I?"
Hermione frowned. "That's...well, kind of hard to explain without you freaking out. Just...try not to."
Ginny tried to move to get more comfortable, but winced when she felt her injuries from being in that nasty battle at Malfoy Manor coming back. "What's going on? Mione,' you're scaring me a bit. I want to know where I am."
Hermione rose, and paced the room. She unconsciously rubbed her belly in a way a pregnant woman would do, but Ginny didn't call her out on it. "First off, we're in Prince Manor. The Malfoys brought you here shortly after I was, and you were out of it for two weeks. Your parents didn't like that you were here, but agreed that you were safer here than anywhere else. The other Order of the Phoenix members...well, they didn't like what happened with me, and everything, and it took a while for them to let me stay here to look after you."
Ginny managed to sit up better, and she asked, "Soo, who was chosen for you for the whole Claiming thing? They have to know it wasn't your fault, or his, right? It's rape on both sides."
Hermione sighed, "Yes, and the Malfoys tried to explain that. But you know how Lupin, and even your brothers are."
Ginny nodded. "Yeah, particularly Ron. He kind of has got it in his head that you're his, or something."
Hermione nodded. "Yes, he was very put out by that. Particularly, when I told everyone the news that because of Voldemort's stupid bit of theater I'm now pregnant."
Pregnant. The word registered in her brain, but didn't quite register all the way until Hermione answered her next question, "Who got you pregnant, Hermione?"
Hermione teared up, and she wiped at her tears angrily, "Professor Snape."
Ginny couldn't speak, or breathe for a moment. "Oh. Oh, wow. I...I have no words. I'm so sorry. I'm sure he wasn't thrilled when he found out."
Hermione nodded, crying more freely now, "No. He was his usual git self, but he did his duty, and signed the marriage license. He's been keeping himself busy in his lab or the gardens, but I'm pretty sure it's because he doesn't want to face the reality of having a pregnant witch in his life."
"I can't imagine what that's like."
"It's terrible. He's terrible. I--"
A house elf apparated into the room, a female one who curtsied for Hermione. "Mistress, Master is asking for you in the basement. It sounded quite urgent."
Hermione wiped at her eyes. "Thank you, Smocky. Do we still have that Order meeting tonight?"
The house elf got out a blue spiral notebook, and looked over her notes. "Mmhm. Yep, the Weasleys want to check up on our guest, and the kitchen staff is already preparing for the dinner that will be served. Is there anything else that is needed?"
Hermione shook her head. "No, thank you, Smocky. I think we'll be fine for now."
"Alright. Good luck, Mistress. Master has been...grumpier than usual."
"I will remember that."
She apparated away, and Ginny tried to hug Hermione. Hermione did it for her, and when the two friends broke away, Ginny encouraged, "Give him hell, girl. Tell him from me he's being an ass."
Hermione laughed. "Sure, I'll tell him that if I feel like dying. I had better go, he hates tardiness."
"Good luck."
"Thanks."
Hermione left, and as soon as she did, she was attended to by house elves, and soon Madam Pomfrey was ushered in, and she was given some good healing potions to heal up from her injuries. Hopefully, mum wouldn't freak out too much once she saw her, and maybe, just maybe, she could see Harry again, and tell him her true feelings for him at long last...
