Heather

Why Alex decided to accompany her alongside her birth parents, Heather had no idea, but deep down she was glad for his support. She had to dress in home mode, which meant none of her usual dragon hide leather, or erumpent, and definitely nothing showing off her boobs. Alexander, being Ilvermorny's own resident outcast, and proud fellow Potions class nerd, wore whatever the hell he wanted, which was a monochromatic suit, but at least he took out his earrings.

Heather stared at the sickeningly saccharine Barbie doll mansion that was the Farris Hamptons residence, and rolled her eyes in disgust. "Welcome to Gerald Farris's inside stock trader haven."

Alex laughed, and fought back more laughter when mom was even more confused. "And this is funny, how? I have no clue what a stock even is, dear."

Dad spoke up, "It is a monetary percentage you pay as a sort of cut of the profits from a corporation. Heather means that her adopted father traded his stocks with information he received from his broker illegally. But of course, the crimes a bit different in the wizarding world."

Alex grinned wolfishly. "Thank the powers that be that not all pure wand users aren't living completely in the Datk Ages."

Heather approached the front door with great reluctance. "Yeah, well, Gerald is in Vegas working hard on a new tort reform case, or so he'd have us believe. My mom? Just...keep in mind that mom has her coping mechanisms, and I don't know if she's still on the wagon, or with her latest boy toy, but hopefully she'll be lucid for this visit."

Alex laced his fingers through hers, and gave it a gentle squeeze before kissing her cheek. "I hope so too, darling. And don't worry, if we need to call in the white coats, we can manage."

Heather turned to her birth parents. "We've dealt with mom's brand of crazy before, but Lex always wipes her memories of him whenever he's visited before. We have just..." Her cheeks flushed red, "Y'know, never tried being more than friends...um, before."

Lucius nodded. "I have dealt with some share of alcohol issues in my own family. Your Grand, long before he caught dragon pox, and passed away when your brother Draco was eight, had problems keeping off the firewhiskey, and your Grand Cousin he..."

Andromeda finished, "He went through some alcohol issues after his girlfriend chose to be with his school bully instead of him."

Alex closed his eyes for a moment, and then opened them, his eyes as blue as the sky because he fed recently. His eyes went wide as saucers, and he looked star struck. "Oh. Oh, wow, Heather. I have wanted to meet my idol for years! You should've told me you knew Master Snape so closely, Mr Malfoy."

Dad laughed, "I doubt Severus will appreciate the hero worship, Alex. I assume he is a celebrity among Potioneers."

Lex was grinning boyishly, "You're damned right he is, right up there with Master Potter, inventor of the Skelegro and SleekEazy potions."

Heather cleared her throat. "Alrighty then, Al, if you are finished fanboying over my birth dad's cousin, I think we can ring the doorbell?"

"Yep. Go ahead."

She did, and Bob? Dave? Yeah, she could never keep the names of mom's butler's straight. This Butler looked like he was pulled from some ancient ass black and white movie, and he looked barely sentient with his wrinkles, and colorless eyes.

"Oh. It is you, Mistress Heather."
"Uh yeah, Igor, is it? Where is mom?"

The Butler narrowed his eyes at her. "In her playroom, where else? She has a new crop she is playing with."
