Hermione
I was walking along a black sand beach when I saw the dragon. He was a black red dragon, only it looked like his wings were dipped in crimson blood while his body was black. Why I knew him to be male, I didn't know, but it was an instinct that I had in the dream.
He had caught himself a huge shark and was cooking it with his fire. But when he went to eat it, he tore at it daintily with his razor sharp claws.
"I wondered when I would meet you," He said in my mind. "But I had hoped it would be after you delivered Aramis and Jude."
I eyed this fiery eyed dragon warily. "I...I thought the dragon Riders were a myth. My husband told me that one of our sons is a Rider, and he might be one as well."
The dragon chewed thoughtfully for a moment before answering, "He is more than that social title to you, my lady, as am I to you, but that is a different matter altogether we don't have time to get into here. You don't have to fear me, Hermione. Please approach."
I did, but very slowly. The dragon finished up eating, and he incinerated the bones, and he bent his head down to my level. "Most dragons incinerate non Draconologists."
I heard a deep rumble in my head, and knew he was laughing. "Forgive me for laughing. Your fellow wand users love to put the lesser members of my race on display like zoo animals. Those of us who can shapeshift, speak via legilimency, bond to your people magically and...literally should the mood take us, are far superior. Would you like to see my mage form? You might be more comfortable interacting with me in that way."
"Wait, you can look like a man?"
"Naturally..."
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
"I'm more genuinely curious than scared of you now," I admitted. "Go ahead and impress me, I've seen some strange magical things in my time."
The dragon grinned wolfishly, and there was a brief flash of light, and his huge body disappeared, and reformed to a tall, but athletic man with long straight black hair with the ends of his hair dipped in dark red. He wore costly black wizard robes, but his face was both intensely handsome and intimidating at the same time, yep, I definitely have a 'type,' that's for sure. His eyes were the same fire color as in his dragon form, and he had short but razor sharp nails.
I found myself blushing as I studied him, but he did not approach me, he simply studied me. His voice was both smooth and authoritative at the same time, "Shall we walk?"
"I..I guess so." I approached him, and looked for his wings. "Where are your wings?"
He grinned. "I did not think you would want to see them on a smaller scale. They are still there, I am just in my mage form is all."
I nodded, and he held out his hand. I touched it, and I felt the power of him surge through me, and also learned his name: Killian. "You...You are a King?"
He bowed regally. "One of the last. Severus met Lorcan, and your twin sons, but he has yet to meet Lorcan's mate, not his if you are worried about that."
"So long as I am alive anyway."
"Indeed. And only if he so wishes it. Most Riders are not so close in that respect, although the mental and magical affinity can make such associations as easy as breathing. I choose you because our powers align more seamlessly."
"From what I read, the mythologies said that the Dragon Rider Order died out due to the dragons eventually passing away, or through battle. The Rider often went insane with grief, but the books in Hogwarts library often framed these reports as mere fairy tales. Who do you rule?"
