Hermione

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Luna asked after I explained my dream about Lord Killian. "You could have just dreamed the whole thing, and nargles could have invented this scenario in your subconscious."

I put a throw pillow underneath my butt as I sat down on the living room floor Indian style. I chuckled at her mention of nargles, "I have to believe that Killian exists, just as you believe that nargles exist, Luna."

Luna sat down across from me. "Okay. I think I understand you now. But I want to stay for like moral support, you know what I mean?"

"You also want to meet him."
"Oh, for sure."

We shared a laugh over that, and I closed my eyes as if to meditate. I don't know how I was able to send out my consciousness but I did, and for a long time, nothing happened. But then, I began to feel that slight itch behind my eyes that indicated that my mind had someone else in it. Killian's presence felt...powerful, ancient even, but not threatening, and calming.

I heard his deceptively young voice in my head then: "Hermione. How I longed for you to contact me without the benefit of dreams. I assume the battle is not going well for Hogwarts."

"No, no, it is not. But I need your help--"
"Saving your mate."

"Yes. I can't fight being pregnant, but you can. Will you not help me? You said that you would before."

Killian seemed to think this over, but then I heard his quiet laughter in my head before he answered, "Of course. But, I wish to meet you first in both forms."

"Where are you now?"
"Wales."
"That's not far."

"No, not to a dragon. I am flying that way now," He announced. "Be ready soon."

He broke the connection, and I felt almost shoved out of my own head before I was able to open my eyes, and look around my living room. Luna was looking at me expectantly, and she asked, "What happened? You looked as if you were almost having a fit for a moment there."

I stood, and put the throw pillow I was sitting on back on the couch. I smoothed down my maternity jeans, and nodded. "I'll be fine. Apparently, we are going to have a guest fly in very very soon to visit us briefly."

Luna began to get excited. "Oh, goody! I can't wait. Um, he's a good dragon, right?"

"I certainly hope so."

Just as Luna was about to say something to agree or disagree with me, Lark apparated into the room, and a booming noise, as if something very large just landed sounded.

"Mistress, Mistress! A d-dragon just landed. What should Lark and the other house elves do?" He asked, his normally low voice high with uncharacteristic fear.

"Lark, he's here to see me very briefly before going to help Master Severus in the Battle of Hogwarts tonight," I declared. "Where did he land?"

"On the beach."

"Alright, re cast the protective wards after he leaves," I ordered. He disapparated with a loud pop, but he grumbled under his breath that this was a very bad idea on my part.

I turned to Luna. "Are you ready to meet my dragon Lord?"

Luna grinned knowingly. "Obviously. I am so excited already."

I laughed to hide the nervousness pooling in my belly. "I...I guess I am too. Let's go..."

We put on cloaks over our clothing, and went outside on to the beach veranda. Sure enough, a huge black dragon with red tipped wings waited for us. I approached the dragon carefully, and as soon as he saw us, he transformed into his wizard form, only he kept his red tipped wings, making him look almost veela-like in appearance.
