Ginny
She toyed with her bridal set on her hand, the magic null and void on it now, but she wore it anyway as a reminder to not be so naive with relationships ever again. Luna sat beside her in the waiting room looking pensive, but she hated that unconscious gesture she was making of rubbing her belly. No doubt Fleur and Bill were already trying to pop a new Weasley into her Easy Bake oven, and Hermione already was coming along just fine and dandy with her own pregnancy.
Tonks looked more like a cow every day, but she wasn't of a mood to tell her former "sister wife," that. Hermione's bump wasn't nearly so large, but she beamed with good health, and was living like a Princess with her fine clothes, dark Manor estate, and she had a husband that doted on her. Ginny wanted to laugh at the cruel irony of that! The most disagreeable, cantankerous teacher in Hogwarts was a good husband. Who knew?
But it was just Luna Malfoy in the waiting room for now. Draco was in the gift shop trying to find a decent bouquet of flowers for Mr Lovegood. Luna's phone buzzed and she flipped it open. She giggled to herself, and began tapping away like any other muggle teenager. Ginny tried to busy herself with reading three week old Witch Weekly's. Draco arrived with a bouquet of some kind of hydrangeas, and Ginny felt like her stomach got punched because of the tender scene of him planting a soft kiss on his wife's lips, and some sentiments about their forthcoming baby.
A Healer wizard arrived dressed in the starched white robes of the hospital. "Madame Malfoy?"
Luna rose, her face concerned now. "Yes?"
He continued, adjusting thick glasses on his nose. "Ahem. Your father Mr Lovegood is still unconscious. He was tortured quite a bit with the Cruciatus Curse, and some other obscure ones. But the worst is the extreme malnutrition, and starvation he endured while in captivity."
Draco held his wife with his free hand as she cried in his arms. "Shhh, Cherie, it will be alright. May we see him, Healer?"
The Healer nodded. "Yes, but only family for now."
Luna dried her eyes. "Oh. Madam Potter is a close friend of the family, Healer. May she not see him?"
The Healer appraised her, and found something about her that was lacking...like always. It was the old story of the Weasley family being overestimated and overlooked, so she should have been used to it by now.
"Oh, it's okay, Luna," She reassured her. "You two go on ahead, I have errands to run anyway."
Luna looked like she didn't altogether believe her, but she knew better than to push the issue. Draco seemed to get it, and he surprised her by hugging her. He whispered in her ear, "You'll be fine, Weaslette. You're too tough and shrewd to keep down forever."
Ginny grinned, breaking the hug, "Thanks, Malfoy. Must you always use last names? Some people might find that rude, you know?"
"Fine, I'll call you Ginger instead."
Ginny laughed. "Yep, that's more weird. Thanks for cheering me up, dork."
"Don't mention it. Do you really have to go?"
A part of her wanted to, she really did, but what was the point? She wanted to get on with life, and figure out just what that path was. "Yep, I really do. Thanks for offering though. I just...I have a lot on my emotional plate right now."
"Don't we all? The olive branch is yours, whenever you want."
"I'm taking it. But I want to work on myself a bit before venturing too far into doing a non Weasley thing by associating all the way with Malfoys."
"And Princes, I guess."
She winced. "Yeah. You think Snape really loves her, though?"
Draco nodded. "Yes. I believe that one hundred percent. My godfather's a closed book, yes, but leave it to Granger to tear down those walls and give him a sanctuary for all of the dark shit he goes through on a daily basis."
