Lucius
Three Weeks Later...
Through his influence at the Ministry of Magic, he was able to get the files on Heather Farris, an American witch living in New York City due to her schooling at Julliard. For what career, the file didn't disclose, only that she was there. Andromeda healed up, and her divorce from Ted Tonks was officially finalized and declared null and void magically. Andra was sad about it, but they were taking baby steps with their own relationship, which was what they both needed at this stage in their lives. Certainly, they were intimate, and shared things together, but neither of them wished to discuss even the remotest possibility of remarriage in light of all that was going on in the world.
Lucius rather enjoyed taking things slow for a change, and not rush either love or his grief and remorse surrounding his late wife. He set about making breakfast in the kitchen he just renovated magically in the safe house Manor, and finished up making up a plate for himself as he levitated the serving trays up the stairs to the master bedroom.
Andra laid in bed sleeping peacefully, and he pressed a soft kiss to the top of her head. "Awake Sleeping Beauty. I brought you breakfast in bed."
Andromeda chuckled, yawning, "Mm, I'm impressed, you did this all without house elves. Who are you and what have you done with Lucius Malfoy, good sir?"
Lucius flashed her his most winning smile, "Oh, he's around. I'm his sexier twin brother who actually does shit around here instead of languish in his vanity."
She giggled. "Whatever. Thank you, for this. I can't wait to finally meet our daughter. She's three years older than Draco, so that would make her 21, I believe."
"Yes. She is in New York studying for some creative career. The files on her did not disclose what exactly, just that she was in Julliard hiding among the muggles and--"
"No Maj's, Lucius. That's what the slang term is in America," Andra cut him off, sipping her Oolong tea. "Maybe it wouldn't be safe to reach out to her. I don't want to put our child in danger simply because I want to see her."
Lucius took her hands in his, and kissed them. "I think it's worth the risk, and I know Draco would be thrilled to meet his older half sister. You said it yourself that you want to see her."
She frowned. "That was before I was hit with the Cruciatus Curse several times, and I nearly killed my sister in a brawl. I want to meet Heather, I do, but she will ask why we didn't raise her, and I don't know how we'll be able to answer that without coming across as superficial. 'Sorry, my sister's father in law to be colluded with my father to hush up your existence so my perfect sister could marry her perfect golden Prince because of wizarding tradition.'"
"Have you ever told Cissa?"
She shook her head.
"We are together now, Cherie. That is all that matters. I cared for Narcissa. She gave me Draco, and I will always care for her, but I love you, Andromeda. No matter what happens in this war, we will have one another."
Andra kissed him. "Yes, yes, we do. But let's eat breakfast before we leave, because I know that I for one am excited to finally get out of this bed."
"I agree. Cheers."
They clicked their mugs together, and did not speak much as they ate the feast he cooked. When that was done, Andromeda moved to get out of bed, but she slapped his hands out of the way. "I can do it, damn it!"
"Alright."
She gingerly got out of bed, and when she stumbled a bit on putting weight on her legs, that was the only time he moved in to assist her. After moving awkwardly about the room, she finally got the hang of it, and seemed to be in a better mood by far.
They got ready to go, and he handled locking and securing the grounds, which took longer than he would have liked, but he wanted to keep this a safe house for as long as possible. He didn't know when they would be back this way, but he could very well picture his family calling this place a home they could call their own.
Andromeda laced her fingers through his as they walked to the apparition point on the property. "You want to come back here, don't you?"
Lucius nodded. "Of course. Don't you? I was just imagining the place filled with our family, and joy and unity once again."
"I want that as well. But, we should go. I assume you told Draco our plans," She surmised.
"Yes, and he is attending his godmother's baby shower in my stead."
Andra smiled. "I rather like Hermione myself. She seems good for your cousin, despite how...unorthodox their relationship began."
Lucius agreed. "I agree. Are you ready to go to the States, darling?"
She took his arm. "Yes. Let us go find our daughter."
"I like the sound of that."
"Yes. Maybe another one if we play our cards right," She put in, hopefully.
Lucius was genuinely astonished by her acceptance of their relationship. Did she really want this as much as he did? Only time would tell, of course. He hid his misgivings by agreeing, "I think that sounds delightful, Cherie, just delightful."
He turned on the spot, and focused on the location his contacts at the Ministry gave him, and he felt that awful familiar tug at the base of his navel as they disapparated into an alleyway that was close to Broadway, and they both discovered at last what their long lost daughter did for a career in the muggle world...
