Remus

The locket of Salazar Slytherin and golden chalice of Helga Hufflepuff sat upon the picnic table of the tent. The locket ticked and seemed to breathe as if it had a life of its own, and he hated it. But because Harry acquired the sword of Gryffindor from a lion patronus at their last camp site, they were able to destroy the gold chalice. The locket on the other hand...well, that would take some bargaining power.

Harry came into the tent flap from his bath, and Remus studied his beta. Aside from some minor differences, the boy even looked like his father physically. Harry was drying off his chest when he caught him staring.

Harry's cheeks flushed a pretty shade of red, and he shyly grinned, "See something you like?"

Remus smiled. "Definitely. But I'm a bit worried about the locket. Alpha or not, Fenrir is loyal to V...the despot to a fault. He's also dangerous."

Harry ducked into their sleeping area, and changed into some blue jeans and sneakers. "Yeah. But he also leads our pack. You came up with the plan, 'member?"

"I know, but if anything happened to you..." He rubbed the back of his neck, "Gods, it would be like losing James all over again."

Harry hugged him, and he hugged him back, relishing the feel of being able to hold him. Harry cupped the side of his cheek. "I'm not going anywhere if I can help it, Remes. Besides, Noseless Asshole has to be the one to take me out. It's like all predestined and stuff."

"I'd be terrified of that outcome myself."

"Oh, believe me, I am. But, can we just...spend this last night not worrying? Dora is safe, so are the others. I finished mending your last sweater."

"I think it's cute that you knit with or without the charm. Who taught you? You never said," Remus changed the subject, following him into their makeshift bedroom.

"Hermione, actually," Harry showed him his mended sweater, "She wanted to free the school House elves when she figured out that Hogwarts had them. Dobby ended up taking all of her scarves, hats, and mittens that she knitted all year."

They sat together on their transfigured bed. "And you don't think it's weird, her with Snape like that?"

Harry cringed, "Uh yeah, major cringe all around there. But it's not worth the visuals of them snogging at their wedding, her with a baby bump from him. Yuck, now I'm reminded that he actually put his dick in her."

"That would be present tense."
"Double gross."
Remus laughed.
"What's so funny?"
"You acting like a child about this."
"I just don't like the guy."
"Neither do I, but I don't hate him."

"Can we do something else?"

Remus smirked, picking up on his beta's pheromones. He lightly kissed him, and pulled away. "All in good time, my mate, but first we need to eat."

"Fine."

They prepared the leftover rabbit they hunted in their wolf forms last night over an open fire outside, and they made a stew of it with local herbs that Remus found around the campsite.

He didn't want to barter Salazar Slytherin's locket for favor with the werewolves, but it was the only chance the Order of the Phoenix had for acquiring more fighters. He also didn't want to think of what Fenrir Greyback would want in return for said help, should he be in a generous enough mood to help them. Would he want Harry? Him? It wouldn't be the first time he had to let that brute make him his bottom.

Harry looked at him, and without his glasses, he looked so beautiful. His green eyes flashed yellow for a brief second before he smiled a shy smile, and ate more of his rabbit stew.
