"D-damn." Angelise looked into Faust's eyes. The man was holding her by the throat, dangling her body over a lot of spikes.
"Isn't it just wonderful, huh?" Faust asked as he swung her from side to side. She looked at him with almost disbelief.
"You are so close to your death, and the only thing keeping you alive is me." Faust grinned. Angelise tried to move her arm to punch him, but one of the spikes below extended, piercing her arm, holding it in place.
"No, we don't do that here," Faust said calmly.
"I can see the fear in your eyes." Faust grinned as he began to roll his other shoulder.
"Bite me." Angelise gasped out with a grin. Faust's lips dropped, and he stared at her without an emotion on his face.
"I promised myself that I wouldn't let my anger take control, nor would I allow the death of Arti to have any meaning in this battle, but when I look at your cocky face, I become angry. Why did Arti have to die because of you guys?" Faust asked. Angelise didn't answer him but just grinned.
"This is war, or did you forget?" Angelise growled after a few moments. Faust nodded and let go of her neck. She slowly fell down toward the spikes. Her eyes widened.
"It is war." Faust looked at her with dark eyes. Angelise's body tore through one of the spikes, getting completely impaled on it. Angelise slid down the spike, leaving a trail of green blood on it. Faust slowly released his body from the bone, sitting on top of it, dangling his legs down. He looked at Angelise, whose eyes were twitching.
"You are now going to die." Faust grinned as he looked at her.

"ANGELISE!" Damien shouted. They all looked at her in horror as she kept sliding down the bone, leaving a murky green blood trail behind her.
"This is horrible. She was finally doing a comeback!" Sakana growled, grabbing the hilt of his blade in annoyance.
"Angelise," Kotoha said with a weak voice.

Angelise's eyes kept twitching as she felt the pain in her abdomen. She kept sliding down as she tried to move, feeling a surging pain through her body. She was completely pierced. The spike had even hit the leech. Her eyes darted a bit, looking toward her comrades. Her eyes fell on Kotoha, who was looking at her in fear.
"Oh, don't look at me like that." Angelise thought as she closed her eyes.
"Those innocent eyes..." Angelise thought.

How many years has it been now? I ponder that question every day since I lost my husband and since I lost our child. I am not an average human. I am something beyond. I will live forever as long as this leech is part of me. I will not be able to age, nor will I be able to die from hunger, thirst, or sickness. Taking my life is the only redemption I can get. I have lived for hundreds of years now, watching the nation of Betamorion rise and become a truly beautiful nation. Back in my young days, I was a showwoman and announcer at a bar—a dancer and performer. I enjoyed the calm life, and through that life, I met my husband. He was a traveling swordsman from Betania. I was originally from Alphamorion and I think by then, we hated each other guts. He was hired at the bar as a bouncer and guardsman and damn well, he could guard. I didn't ever see him lose a fight. I was young and pretty with blond hair and defining features. I had the most lovely blue eyes, and he fell for me with ease. We grew older together, but when I hit the age of forty, I stumbled across this sickness. I hosted it and turned it into an ability. We soon found ourselves in a situation where I didn't age. He started to escape my grasp, and at the age of seventy-five, he died. I was left with our daughter, but she was the same age as me by then. She always called me mother, but it was weird taking care of her in her last days. Seeing her die reminded me once again of this sickness I bare. At that moment, I wanted to die and escape reality. I just wanted to vanish, but then I remembered someone's words.
