The two of them were staring at each other.
"If it isn't the leader of the Betamorions," Connor said, slamming his cane to the ground, making the sound echo down the hall as he slowly took a step forward, walking toward her with calm footsteps, yet the menacing slam of the cane made the approaching man seem menacing.
"Your name was Connor, right?" Iliya asked. He nodded as he kept walking forward. He stopped with one meter between them, staring down at the little girl.Connor might be a short boy, but he was still taller than Iliya. His golden hair and blue eyes laid softly on the little girl. He was wearing his brown waistcoat and white shirt. Black pants and black patent-leather shoes. His silver cane was still in his hand. The simple boy started at the girl.
"Connor. The aide for Jessica Sparks." Iliya said as she nodded.
"Indeed, but not just Connor. My full name is Connor Rekniz. Do remember that." He said, walking past her. Her eyes widened.
"Rekniz?! But how?" She screamed. The old scientist Vondin Rekniz was part of the first tournament, but that didn't make sense. Vondin never had any children.
"What you are thinking is correct. Vondin did not have any children, and yes, Vondin is my father." Connor said as he stopped up. Iliya kept her eyes on him.
"I hope I will be seeing you in the arena," Connor said.
"Wait, what?" Iliya looked at him.
"Invader number 2. Connor Rekniz The nothing." Connor said, holding up two fingers to indicate his number.
"B-but. I'm not fighting." Iliya said.
"I know you hid behind the strong, yet I enter the arena willingly, fighting with my own powers." Connor turned to her, pointing at her.
"W-what?" She looks surprised.
"We are alike, you and I," Connor said as he slammed his cane into the ground, placing both hands on it.
"We both don't have an ability," Connor said. Iliya looked at him in awe.
"Yet, I still dare fight," Connor said as he turned and left her there. Iliya looked at him leave before she gulped.Connor kept walking as Armfos joined him from the shadows, jingling all his jewelry.
"I will be entering the next round. I should not explain why." Armfos said.
"No, you shouldn't. I need to stay behind and make the choices for the next round and try to plan out a tactic. Please avenge Jessica for us." Connor growled. Armfos stopped as he saw Connor walk away.
"For a man with no ability. You have quite the spine, Connor." Armfos said lowly as he turned around, preparing to walk to his gate.
Iliya was sitting in the morgue. On the platform were the remains of Vindur Caligo. She closed her eyes, being taken back in time.
"How is the death rate?" Iliya asked, taking some documents from the table.
"It's bad, miss. He has slaughtered countless of our soldiers. There is no way for us to stop him." A man in a suit said.
"I see. The nation is spending so many men to try to stop a single boy." Iliya said. She jumped down from her chair, walking forward. She looked at the screen in the room, showing the last footage they got on the killer. A sole boy around the age of a teen, moving around the battlefield like the wind, cutting down people like it was nothing.
"27,8 seconds, stop there." She said. The video scrolled back and stopped. It was a clear image of the boy. She looked at the boy for a few moments.
"You found something we can use to take him down?" The man in the suit asked. Iliya didn't answer. She kept her eyes on the image. She was looking at the blood covering him, The men lying dead around him, and the soaked flowers and grass.
"Take me to his last known whereabouts!" Iliya shouted, turning around as she left the room.
"What are you gonna do, miss?" The man asked.
"I'm gonna stop this once and for all." Iliya turned to him, pointing at him.
"WE THINK WE CAN SOLVE EVERYTHING USING VIOLENCE AND BLOOD. I WILL NOT TOLERATE IT ANYMORE. THIS IS NOT THE BETAMORION OUR ANCESTORS WANTED. IF I CAN'T SAVE THIS BOY, THEN HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SAVE THIS NATION!" Iliya roared.
