y/n's been a single parent of her daughter billie her whole life. She tries everything to make sure billies okay.

y/n thought sending billie to public school would be a good learning experience for her rather than being homeschooled.

turns out it was the complete opposite of that.

"Billie, wheres your backpack so we can do homework?" I ask looking for my daughters school bag. She has a little bit of homework left to finish before tomorrow since it's due that day.

"billie?" I call out, still not hearing a response.

i walk into the kitchen to see her with a pair of scissors in her belly botton.

"billie what are you doing!? Give me those." I say quickly taking the scissors out her hands.

"hey, i need those mom" she says looking up at me, tears filling in her eyes.

"no, why were these in your belly button? You know you shouldn't be doing that"

"I was just trying to get rid of my tummy because..i don't like it"

"honey, what do you mean? You can't cut off your skin baby"

"b-but we cut off our hair when we don't like it so...so why can't i cut my tummy fat off cause i don't like it"

"Baby girl, who made you feel you had to do something like that?"

"Everyone in school keeps calling me fat and...and poking me"

i wipe the tears that started to come down her face.

"i-i just wanna be beautiful mommy. Like you are"

"baby girl you are beautiful, just the way you are"

"I don't feel like that sometimes..."

"that's okay, mommy doesn't feel beautiful all the time either"

"y-you don't?"

"no. But that's okay. Not everyone feels beautiful all the time"

"b-but the kids at school say i-i'm ugly all the time..."

"honey they're just jealous that they'll never be as beautiful as you are. Don't let them get to you. You're beautiful just the way you are okay?"

she sniffs before nodding.

i pull her into a hug as she cries into my shirt. I hate seeing her upset like this. Especially because of the dumb kids at her school.
