CHAPTER 12 - STILL OPEN 🤔?

🕦 11:40 p.m.—just as Max was about to turn off the lights in his café, the sound of the doorbell suddenly rang 🔔. Startled, he immediately rushed to the front. He didn’t want any customers to mistakenly think the café was still open🚪.

Max: Sorry... the café is closed—

Max lets out a small scream, startled. To his surprise, the person he’s been thinking about all day appears out of nowhere, smiling at him.

Nath: Hi ☺ ?

Max remains silent, unsure if he's imagining things. He blinks, trying to process the moment.

Nath: Are you still open ?

Max realizes that Nath isn’t a figment of his imagination—he’s really standing there, right in front of him. Dressed casually in a black T-shirt, Nath looks effortlessly cool, his smile warm and inviting.

Max: What are you doing here ? The café is closed—

Before Max could finish his sentence, Nath’s sister appeared.

Nath: This is my big sister. I came here with her for a late-night dinner.

Max: Didn’t you see the sign in front of the café ???

Nath: The sign in front ? You mean the one that says OPEN ?

Suddenly, Max realized that Raff must have forgotten to change the signage. Technically, it was Max’s fault for not checking it again 🤭. He usually double-checked, but somehow, he had completely forgotten today.

Max: Arghhhhh, Raff must have forgotten 😓. But why did you come here ? There are plenty of other places for a late-night dinner. Why here ?

Nath: Because your café was the first place that came to my mind 😊.

Max: The only place on your mind ? Are you trying to make a joke ? That’s not funny.
