CHAPTER 20 - HEARTBEAT 💗

*Max spoke softly while bandaging Nath's hand. The moment between the two of them became so quiet. As if their heartbeats were louder than the cafe music*

*Lyn observes the situation, immediately stopping Leo from walking*

Lyn: I don't know what happened between the two of them. How did my brother get involved with the youngest son of the famous Jace family? Is there anything I should know?

*Lyn looked at Leo, hoping he would share a story about what happened. Lyn was genuinely curious but Leo made an excuse*

Leo: I'm sorry. I don't know what happened between my Mr. and your brother. Mr. Natha said he was hungry and decided to come here. So as his assistant, I just accompany wherever my Mr. goes.

*Leo lies because if he speaks the truth. He's afraid that Max little sister will cause chaos*

Lyn: We should wait here... The situation between the two of them is okay now. Let them talk.

*Lyn and Leo wait and try not to hear Max and Nath's conversation... For them, it's Max and Nath's privacy*

Nath: Still mad at me?

*Nath, trying to break the silence between the two of them... It was hard for Nath to start a conversation after their argument, but he tried hard to cut his ego*

Max: I finished bandaging your wrists. If you're done eating... you can go now.

*Nath realizes Max is still mad at him even though Max speaks softly, but his face shows no expression*

Nath: You don't want to answer me?

Max: We should stop this conversation. It's late... You better go home.

Nath: Okay... If that's what you want. Leo, are you done peeing? Let's go home.

Leo: Yes, Mr, I'm done.

*Leo who was hiding with Lyn immediately came out of the kitchen after almost 25 minutes they gave Max and Nath a private space to chat*

Lyn: Umm, once again, I want to apologize on behalf of my brother.

Nath: It's okay... It's not his fault. How much is the food?

Max: Just go... I don't need your money. * Without looking at Nath *

Lyn: Max! You sound so rude now! Umm, Natha. You can go home. Don't worry about food.

*Nath looks at Leo gesturing for him to leave the money on the table. Leo, nods his head and takes out the cash*

Leo: I'll just leave the money here. Please forgive me and Mr.

*Nath and Leo leave the cafe. The cafe suddenly became so empty. Max and Lyn sat quietly. Lyn, who couldn't take it anymore and started asking her brother questions*

Lyn: What exactly happened?? Is this also the reason why you got angry when I told you about Nath at the cosmetics store? Is there anything you want to tell me😌?

Max : Lyn ... nothing happened.

Lyn : Okay, if you want to avoid telling me what really happened. You have to go find Nath again.

Max: What? Why do I need to find him again?

Lyn: To apologize to Nath!

Max : Lyn... You heard yourself that I apologized to him!

Lyn: That's not enough! Manners! You said it with a cold expression... That's not how you apologize after hurting someone.

*When Lyn want to start an argument between the two of them. Max immediately tries to stop her... Because it's the first time he's seen Lyn angry*

Max: What do you want me to do?

Lyn: Go to his office and find Nath. I bet you know where his office is.

Max: I don't want to.

Lyn: You have to!

Max: Lyn.....

Lyn: Max, I don't want to hear any excuses from you... As a fan of Nath... I feel very ashamed to see my brother fighting with him ☹️.

Max: Okay... okay. I will go and find him. I will fulfill your request and Lyn has to know... It's hard to find a famous person like him 🙂.

*After hearing her brother agree to her request... Lyn comes out with a plan*

Lyn: Nath has his favorite drink... Umm, Earl Grey! Max, you have to make that drink for Nath and cook him something and maybe buy him flowers!

Max: Flowers?? Lyn ... you are crazy right now.

Lyn: Me? Crazy? You hurt Nath, isn't that also a crazy act? I do not care! You need to buy a White Orchid as your apology.

*Max takes a deep breath... If it wasn't for the fact that he cared about his little sister... He wouldn't have done all that*

Lyn: Max! Did you hear what I just said??

Max: I heard. I will do everything you say. Are you satisfied?? It's late... Let's go home.

Lyn: Promise me... I won't believe it until you promise.

Max: Promise... Is that what you want to hear?

Lyn: Now you have become a good brother 😌 .

*Max sits quietly in his bedroom. Complaining about himself. If he didn't do everything Lyn told him... Lyn would definitely be very upset*

*Max checks his phone... Looks at the time already 02:47a.m. but he still hasn't slept. He went to the kitchen to find something. He took sleeping pills the only way to make himself feel sleepy and forget about what happened in the cafe*

*Lies on his bed. Checking his phone again, it's 03:15a.m. Now he could feel a little sleepy, and finally, he fell asleep with his bedroom light still on*

*Monday morning, someone keeps knocking on Max's bedroom door*

Lyn: Max......... !! Wake up!!! You have to go buy flowers for Nath !

*Max still hasn't woken up, probably due to the effects of the sleeping pills. Lyn who keeps knocking on the bedroom door is annoyed because Max still hasn't woken up*

*Lyn tries to find a spare key. She found it! Thanks god, they have spare keys for every door in the house. Lyn opens Max's bedroom door and starts playing loud music on her phone*

*Max is startled, thinking something is up and quickly gets up to his bed. His messy hair covered his eyes. Barely able to see his sister standing with an angry face*

Lyn: Still dreaming??? Look at the time! Yesterday you promised to buy flowers for Nath!

*Max, still confused and trying to open his right eye. There is his little sister looking at him with crossed arms*

Lyn: Wake up! Go take a shower... It's late. You need to buy the freshest White Orchid for Nath.

Max: Lynnnnnnnn.... it's still early.

Lyn: Max... it's not early! It's almost 8 am.

*Max who is still sleepy...has to listen to his little sister babbling about Nath early in the morning. He wanted to argue but knew he would lose the argument so he just stood there listening to Lyn speak*
