CHAPTER 28 - TAKE CARE 🦋

After the commotion from the phone call a few minutes ago, the car fell into silence. Nath refocused on his driving, while Max—still pretending to sleep—turned his face toward the car window.

He couldn't stop thinking about the man on the phone—the one with the husky voice that made Nath look so happy😌.

A sudden noise disturbed Nath’s concentration. Max had fallen asleep, and his head kept bumping against the car window. Sighing, Nath pulled over again, but this time, he placed a neck pillow around Max's neck. With a click, he adjusted Max’s seat so he could lie down more comfortably.

Nath: Urghh... I don’t want to say this while watching him sleep, but he looks kinda cute when he’s not angry🙂. “ Muttering under his breath ”

Nath returned his focus to the road, but the constant notification pings from his phone kept interrupting him. He knew it was Leo—his assistant—since he had set a special ringtone just for him.

Since his texts had gone unanswered, Leo decided to call. If it were up to him, he’d prohibit Nath from driving entirely. In fact, if he could, he would send a bodyguard to pick him up. Everyone knew how worried and terrified Leo got whenever Nath disappeared.

Each time his Mr. went missing, Leo was reminded of the past—the time Nath had run away from home. The fight between Nath and his father was something Leo would never forget. If it happened again, he would have to contact Mer, Nath’s sister, though he hated troubling her.

Leo also remembered how the JACE family had desperately tried to cover up Nath’s disappearance from the media. Especially since it had happened right after the launch of their family's new business, making the media even more eager to keep an eye on them.

The media knew how to play their role, especially when it came to the affairs of the wealthy. Twisting words, spinning false stories—fabricating scandals out of thin air. The scariest part was how easily their headlines could ruin a person’s business and reputation.

Leo didn’t just worry about the company; he didn’t want to see Nath fall into deep depression again because of his family.

It was painful to watch Nath push everyone away, shutting himself off from those who tried to get close to him. That’s why Leo had a deep respect for anyone who could genuinely befriend Nath—it wasn’t easy to earn his trust.

A year ago, Leo had to call Nath countless times, waiting endlessly for him to pick up. It required an enormous amount of patience. But now, things were better. Even though Nath still found his calls annoying, he at least answered them.

Leo: Mr. ? Are you already on your way ?

Nath: Yes, Leo. I’m driving now🙂.

Recognizing the irritation in his Mr. voice, Leo quickly decided to end the call.

Leo: Alright. Please be careful while driving😟.

Nath: Umm 🙂.

After several hours of driving, they finally arrived at Rainbowall Café. Nath gently shook Max’s shoulder to wake him. Max’s eyes fluttered open, and the first thing he saw was Nath smiling at him.

Max gulped. Damn, how is he so handsome? His gaze lingered on Nath’s pink lips, and for a fleeting moment, he thought about touching them. Not just that—he also had the sudden urge to stroke Nath’s chubby cheeks.
