**********************************Logan was smiling from ear to ear as they traveled up to her apartment in the elevator. He was still smiling when they got up to the apartment door.
"I had a great time tonight, Logan," Hazel said softly. Logan bit his lip, and the two of them gazed at each other affectionately.
"Me too," he replied softly.
"Well....Goodnight, Logan," Hazel smiled, and she went to hug Logan. He hugged back, and she felt safe. His arms wrapped around her small frame, and his chin was pressed against her forehead. His breathing was steady, and the heat from his chest was reassuring. Hazel could hug him forever. Hazel wanted to hug him forever.
"Night, Haz," he mumbled. They pulled away, and she couldn't help but smile slightly.
"Bye, Logan," she whispered, and she went into the apartment. Before she shut the door, Logan said softly,
"I'll see you tomorrow night?"
"Tomorrow night," Hazel confirmed. He smiled as she shut the door, and so did she. And when she came inside, Jimmy was sitting on the couch. His eyes were red, but Hazel didn't notice. She was too exhilarated from how the date went.
"How'd it go?" Jimmy asked miserably.
"So well! Let me go change, then we can talk about it!" she bit her lip. She practically twirled into her room. "Oh, Jimmy, can you come in and unzip the dress?" she called.
Jimmy stood up, stretched, and made his way into Hazel's room.
"Course."
He unzipped the dress, and just for a minute, he let his hands linger. Hazel shivered at the contact.
"S-Sorry," Jimmy stuttered, and he couldn't seem to move.
"No it's...." For the first time in twenty three years, Hazel noticed Jimmy in a different way. She noticed how prominent his jawline was, and she noticed how stubble made him look about five years older than he was. Hazel noticed the way his eyelashes were long and dark, and she noticed how his eyes were the color of dark chocolate. "It's alright. I'll um...I'll be out in a minute."
"Yeah," Jimmy nodded, and he tilted his head to look at the beautiful girl in front of him. Then he left and shut the door behind him, also mentally cursing himself for being a moron.
She stripped off her dress and hung it back up. Then she took off her bra, put on a big sweatshirt, and put on a pair of pajama pants.
Then she went into the bathroom and grabbed her makeup removing wipes.
But she couldn't help but think of how natural Jimmy's hands felt on her warm skin. He was her best friend. She shouldn't be feeling that way about him. So she shook it off and went into the living room.
