****************************************Logan was on his way upstairs as Hazel was coming down the stairs. He waited at the bottom, seeing as the stairs were too narrow for both of them.
"Hey," he said softly.
"Hey," she nodded, her eyes averted to the floor.
Logan pressed his lips to hers, and when they pulled apart she put her head on his chest. She felt her eyes welling up with tears as he wrapped his arms around her.
"What's wrong, babe?" he murmured softly.
"You shower?" she asked, avoiding his question. He furrowed his eyebrows.
"Yeah, but are you alright?"
"Let's go in my parents' room," she said softly. "We need to talk."
Logan felt his stomach ball up, and Hazel thought she was going to burst into tears.
"Are you alright, Hazel?" he asked again, pressing his lips to her temple. The two sat on the edge of her parents' bed.
"Last night," she took a deep breath, and her voice cracked. "Last night," she repeated, "obviously I was drunk and Jimmy was drunk and he came into the bathroom and he kissed me and I'm just so sorry and I didn't know what I was doing and I love you and I'm so sorry and you probably hate me and I'm so sorry."
She had started crying, and Logan's stomach dropped. He felt a little badly that she had kissed Jimmy, but he knew she was drunk. He carried her into the house. She was definitely drunk, and....
"Hey, hey," Logan said softly, shaking his head. "Haz, do you want to know the truth?" She nodded. "Babe, I'm put out. Jimmy's been in your life a lot longer than I have, and he's someone important to you. You two have a certain kind of chemistry, and I'd be lying if I told you otherwise. But I trust you. I know you don't feel anything for Jimmy, and I also know you were extremely drunk. I trust you, and if you feel badly enough that you're crying into my shoulder....I love you, Hazel, and I promise I'm not mad. Put out, yes, but I could never, ever hate you. I love you," he repeated.
"Really?" Hazel hiccuped and wiped her eyes.
"Really, babe," he nodded, kissing the tip of her nose. "I promise you. I love you, Hazel. I do."
