"Why do you have an inflatable giraffe?" Jan sighed when Hazel, Logan, and Jimmy walked into the house.

"Wait, wait, let me guess....Mr. Lavallee?" Sam grinned. Haz laughed.

"How did you know?"

"Oh, yeah, he was moving his stuff out today. Was it emotional?" Jan frowned. Haz nodded.

"Reminded me of our last day of senior year. Right down to the cake and the Class of 2010 plates," she shuddered. Then she abruptly changed the subject. "What are we doing for dinner?"

"Pizza," David and Sam piped up.

"Hell yes," Haz praised. "DiMaggio's?"

"Is there anywhere else?" David scoffed, and Hazel stuck out her tongue.

"Best place in all of Illinois," Hazel informed Logan, and Logan smiled. "Right, ok, so I'm gonna bring my pal here up to my room."

Hazel picked up the giraffe under its stomach and brought it through the living room. She then waddled upstairs and placed it in the corner of her room. Hazel was making her way downstairs when she heard Logan, her mother, her brother, and her sister in the living room.

"You really care about her, don't you?" David's voice spoke.

"I love her. Honestly, I do," Logan replied.

"Would you marry her?"

Hazel didn't want to hear what he had to say. She loved Logan, but she didn't think she was ready to hear them discuss marriage. She was twenty three years old.

"I would. Today. Right now, if I could. But I know she wants to wait. We haven't even thought of it. I haven't brought it up. But I would," he added again.

Hazel felt a knot in her stomach. He would marry her today. Right now. But would she marry him today? That was the question, and Hazel was afraid of the answer she would give.

"Hey!" she said loudly, coming back into the room. "Where're Garopps squared?"

"Garopps squared?" Logan giggled.

"That's what we used to call John and Jimmy in high school. And for one year, it was Garopps cubed. Anyway?"

"Home. Jimmy said something about calling someone. I don't remember."
