GIVE EM' HELL - eddie munson [DISCONTINUED]

CHAPTER FIVE - GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS

Astoria's already awake when Eddie jumps up quickly and runs to the window.

They had to sleep next to each other last night, it was awkward, but Astoria has a feeling mentioning the fact that Eddie talks in his sleep would make it awkwarder than it already is.

"Shit! They're gone!"

Astoria jumps up and joins him by the window. The door opens and a loud bang fills the shed, it startles them both, and Eddie raises a hand in front of Astoria as protection. 

How was one singular arm going to protect her? Maybe it was just a reflex.

Dustin cheerfully says, "Delivery service," as they see him and the rest of the gang. Eddie exhales and lowers his arm. Seeing them, Steve and Robin smile and wave.

Astoria and Eddie are sitting on the boat, chomping on honeycomb cereal. The rest of the gang are surrounding them. "So we got, uh, some good news and some bad news. How do you prefer it?" 

Eddie answers Dustin, "Bad news first." Astoria agrees, "Always." Dustin nods, "Alright Bad News." The girl shuffles in her seat, grabbing Eddie's drink off of him and guzzling it down.

The boy shouts in protest, and grabbing across for it, but Astoria tosses it behind her and the glass smashes. "Come on, man--" "We tapped into the Hawkins PD dispatch with our Cerebro, and they're definitely looking for you."

Astoria shrugs, she sort of feels bad for Eddie, but at least they're not looking for her. 

Dustin carries on, "Also, they're, uh, pretty convinced you killed Chrissy." The girl's posture hardens at the mention of her late best friend's name.

 Max adds, "Like 100 percent kind of convinced." Eddie looks around, concerned. "And the good news?"

 Robin answers, "Your name hasn't gone public yet, and Astoria isn't a suspect. But, if we found out about you it's only a matter of time before others do too. And once that gets out, everyone and their shallow-minded mother is gonna be gunning for you."

That was a lot.

Eddie looks down, "Hunt the freak, right?"  "Exactly." The boy mutters a curse and turns to Astoria, who just gives him a look back that says 'oh shit.' 

"So, before that happens, we find Vecna, kill him, and prove your innocence." Steve nods in agreement of Dustin's words. Eddie gives Dustin an offended look, "That's all, Dustin? That's all?" 

"Yeah! No, that's pretty much it," He replies in a sarcastically cheery tone. Astoria rolls her eyes and Robin notices that, "Listen, Astoria. I know everything's Dustin is saying sounds totally delusional, but we've actually been through this kinda thing before."

She adds on, stuttering, "I mean, they have... a... a few times. And I have once, mine was more human-flesh based and theirs was more smoke-related," Eddie looks at Astoria and smirks a little bit as Robin rants on.
