Chapter three ~ Plan

Wednesday, 12:12pm
Location, Austin, Texas.
Some random Café ~

"So everything is sorted? we've got the plan?" Julie said to her mother over the phone while Schlatt sat on the other side of Julie at a Café near their place.

"Yes honey! tickets are booked to fly out here Sunday at 4:30am, so you'll be up and at em' early, well you and your boyfriend of course."

"Ah yes! Me and boyfriend, we're excited to come, he's looking forward to it." Julie smiled and looked to Schlatt then back down at her drink.

Schlatts eyes widened as he sipped his coffee, remembering he has to pretend to date this fucker for a week or so.

"Mhm.....yeah....ahuh.......okay- yeah..you too! ..love ya, bye!" Julie hung up the phone and took a long sip of her pink lemonade that had a few cut strawberries floating at the top and a lemon on the side.

"So, we need to be on the flight by 4:30? I don't know why so early, guess she wants to spend the first day with us." She shrugged and stirred the pink liquid in her cup.

"I'm literally gonna be so tired after the flight, she'll be lucky if i get out of the uber" He responded with a chuckle

"She isn't gonna let us take an uber, bold of you to think she would, you know my mom." Julie sipped her drink.

"Yeah you're right." He chuckled and finished off his coffee.

Schlatt had to record for chuckle sandwich and also edit today, so Julie knew she was going to be on her own. She thought about scrolling thru tinder and find a date to go on

Julie knocked on Schlatts office door.

"Come in!" He responded to her knock

"You recording?" She poked her head in and whispered, tensely.

"Nah, not til later." He responded and clicked around at his screen, Julie didn't really understand the whole youtube editing thing.

"Kk," She relaxed her muscles now knowing she was not interrupting him. Julie said and came all the way into his room "I matched with this dude a few days ago and we've been talking, i think he's cute, should i ask him out on a date?"

He glanced at the screen then back to his monitor. He responded with a quick "No."

"Why not?" She frowned and pulled her phone back.

"He's ugly, I don't like him" Schlatt shook his head and made a face

"You don't know him" She spat back quickly.

"That's okay, don't wanna." He shrugged.

"Ugh, you're no fun. And so picky." She replied and left the room

Anyone Julie was interested in or she was dating, Schlatt always didn't like them, no matter the person, looks or gender, he always did not like them

And things between Julie's last boyfriend and Schlatt...were heated.

Flashback to a few months ago ~

Evans (Evan, Julies ex.) hand was on Julie's outer thigh while he was sitting on the couch by her, watching a movie
Schlatt was in the recliner next to the couch, glaring at the two.

"Why are you touching her so much?Kinda weird." Schlatt said to Evan.

"Because she's my girlfriend...?" Evan said, confused.

"Right," Schlatt retorted quietly and nodded, turning his attention back to the tv.

About twenty minutes later the movie ended and Evan was about to leave, standing outside the door, Julie and Schlatt standing on the inside, Schlatt stood behind Julie with his hand on her shoulder.

Evan placed a quick kiss on her lips "Bye, hun," He said and she waved bye, closing the door and locking it
She immediately turned around, Schlatt was already prepared for what was next.

"What the fuck was that, Schlatt?" She spat at him.

"What're you talking about, dude. He said acting confused.

"Don't act dumb, your whole 'why are you touching her' 'it's late you should head home' 'no me and her have somewhere to be early in the am, you should go' schlatt it isn't even late, it's 7pm!! We don't even have anywhere to go!"

"Oh, that" He cleared his throat and looked down at her "I dunno, guess i just don't like him." He shrugged and went to turn around to head to his room but Julie grabbed him by his shoulder and turned him around

"You're not leaving yet, what is your deal with Evan? he hasn't done anything to you Schlatt."

"You don't even like him" He responded.

"I- what? no, i never said that" She said, acting all confused, but started to back down because she felt that maybe Schlatt... maybe Schlatt was right.

"But i can tell you don't." He replied.

"No you can't? you don't know me"

Schlatt just chuckled to himself.

He did in fact know her, because she broke up with him a week later due to her feeling nothing for him.

But she could never figure out why Schlatt didn't like anyone she dated or talked too, or even thought was cute for that matter.
He has been like this ever since there first year of college.
Honestly Schlatt didn't know why he had cared so much either.
He thought maybe he was just trying to be protective.. but he knew that wasn't right, he just couldn't put his finger on why he didn't like anyone she thought about pursuing or said she was attracted too, no matter who it was, and she didn't know why he was this way, so they settled on him just being protective in a way.

Present time ~

Julie was currently speed walking up and down the aisles of a walmart looking for Schlatt who had randomly shouted the words-
"Hide and seek, you're it!" While she was browsing the coffee section, then he ran off into the fucking sunset, never to be seen again.
As she was walking up and down, slowly picking up speed, she heard a maniacal laughter from behind her then a singular pack of chicken ramen was thrown at her back, followed by the soft sound of foot steps pattering away.
He had already zoomed off as she turned around, so she decided to just, sit down and wait for him.
Julie was out of breath and needed a damn rest, she was too unhealthy and dehydrated to be doing this bullshit with Schlatt right now.
Thankfully it was pretty late in the night so not very many people were in the store, therefore they weren't seen doing this stupid shit.

Ten minutes had gone by and there was no signs of Schlatt, she began to grow impatient.
Her phone started to ring
She quickly answered it, pulling it up to her ear

"Hello?" She said with an annoyed tone.

"Yo, where the fuck did you go, i kept seeing you run around looking for me and now i can't find you"

"Cereal aisle." She said tiredly and rubbed her eyes.

"Are you tired?" He asked her while starting to make his way to her.

"Thank you for asking, i am."

"Pussy" He giggled and walked up to her, ending the call "Come on, let's get our snacks and that other shit we need for the trip so we can go home." he said and extended out an arm for him to pull her up
She grabbed his hand and he yanked her up, a little bit harder than he had originally intended to.
For a split second their faces were quite close together, but they ended that quicker than it started.

"Okay let's go get our little travel size deodorants now!" She said letting go of his hand and clapping her together. Then started to walk off

Schlatt stood still for a moment but then quickly followed behind Julie.
