Chapter 13

2016

"Cheese for Miss Y/N?" Tony said, flipping a burger on the grill.

"Yes please!" You said. You grinned big, leaning into Bucky.

"You need to tell us how much of a badass you were," Sam said.

"Ohh just you wait," You said. "I blew up security. IT. WAS. AWESOME!"

Bucky laughed and kissed you on the head. He drew circles on your shoulder with his hand.

Once Tony served everyone their burgers, you told them about your first day of entering the camp and flooding one of the rooms. Bucky smiled at you the whole time, never taking his eyes off you.

"Well," Tony said. "Looks like you can come on missions with us now!"

"What day is it? I completely forgot," You said.

"December 15th," Tony said. You choked on your drink.

"WHAT?! I MISSED THANKSGIVING AND HALLOWEEN?" You said. Nat nodded her head slowly.

"Holy shit!" You said. "I was gone for way more than a month."

"We were so worried," Bucky said. You leaned back in your chair and sighed, rubbing your forehead.

"It must've taken me almost a month to get Coulson's file. He's dead, y'know? I had to find it. Searched every room in SHIELD," You said.

"Nat!" Tony said. "Your turn for dishes!"

"Y/N!" Nat said. "You're my partner. And Wanda." Wanda mumbled something to Vision who nodded his head than smiled.

"Alright," You said.

Once everyone left, you helped Nat clean up.

"Seriously Nat?" You said. "The first day I get back you throw chores at me?"

"Nah," She said. She looked at you. "Spill the tea! How are you and Bucky?"

"We're doing good," You said, taking a plate and cleaning it. "Why?"

"No reason," Nat said. "If he asked to marry you what would you say?" You looked at her, concerned.

"I know where this is going," You said. "Wanda. What about you and Vision?"

"Engaged," Nat answered for her.

"WHAT?" You said. "HE PROPOSED?"

"Yesterday," Wanda said.

"Holy shit! Sorry I wasn't there," You said.

Wanda laughed. "You're good Y/N. You were on a mission. We're all glad you're back. Especially Bucky and Steve. They would not stop worrying about you."

You giggled.

You took the elevator back to your room, grabbing your backpack on the way.

When you opened the door, Bucky was sitting at the edge of your bed.

"Hey doll," He said. You set your backpack down and closed the door.

"Hey Bucky," You said. You took out your daggers and sketchbook and placed them on your desk. You placed the daggers back into the drawer and turned around.

You walked to Bucky who pulled you in by your waist.

"I missed you," He said. You ran your fingers through his hair and kissed him on the head.

"I missed you too," You said. You had a little bit of sadness in your voice. You couldn't believe you missed a proposal and two big events.

"What's wrong, doll?" Bucky asked. He gently stroked your spine, making you giggle.

"Let me get ready for bed, than I'll tell you," You said, pulling away.

You dug through your wardrobe and pulled out a heavy sweater and sweatpants.

You snuggled into bed with Bucky who kissed you on the forehead. You looked up at him and kissed him.

"I missed that," Bucky said, quietly. You smiled, than it faded away.

"Doll," Bucky said, concerned. "Tell me what's happening."

"I missed so much!" You blurted. "I missed two big events with the team, Vision proposed to Wanda, and now the secretary?"

Bucky pulled you closer to him, kissing you.

"Doll," He said. "It's not your fault. You were gone for 2 months. Clint did a bad job on not updating you. And you heard the meeting with the secretary?"

You nodded your head. He sighed and rested his forehead against yours.

"We'll be okay," He said. "As long as I have you."

You snuggled into his chest and closed your eyes, a tear dripping down your face.

"I love you doll," Bucky said.

"I love you too, Sargeant," You said.
