I have no notes within the story, I feel it takes the reader out of the experience unnecessarily. With a lot of books about werewolves, I'd like to take a moment to explain how this story is structured. At ten, the wolf spirit wakes up and can talk to their human and the parents' wolves. Shifting takes place at age thirteen, this is also when they take the oath to become full members of the pack and can mind-link the pack. Until the wolf pledges to the Alpha, they can only mind-link their parents. Being able to sense their mate happens at eighteen. Alphas pass down titles usually to their male child at twenty-one. It can take longer if they haven't found their mate yet.
Italics will be the wolf spirit talking, bold is human talking to wolf, and bold italics is mind-linking. I will use names so you know who is talking in links.
Clothes shredding when shifting is more realistic. However, it gets annoying to remember who's naked and where to get clothes so it won't happen here. They are magical creatures, after all.
This story will contain mature themes, including abuse and rape. I do not intend to be graphic about these issues but want to warn you now if those things affect you. I personally haven't experienced that stuff, and I vow to treat it as the grave matter it is.
This is not the typical rejection story where the girl is abused by the pack for something stupid, get rejected by mate, and then return years later only to rush into his arms. I wanted to create a different story about a tough yet sensitive she-wolf. I hope you like it.
I have finished the story, but please leave comments on which parts you liked or disliked. Which characters do you love, and who do you hate? Are there others you want to know more about? Thank you for taking the time to read my story!
