Athena's Human Mate

Chapter 14

     Athena impatiently waited for the asshole to get to her, rehearsing the words to break the bond binding them to each other.  She felt the Alpha power taking hold inside her.  She was stronger, faster, the connection between her and Starlight forming progressively.  She put up the mind-link and bond blocks, effectively shutting off their emotions from her once she knew they were off Cresent Moon lands.  It was a bit disconcerting since it was all new but she didn't want to risk anyone feeling what was about to happen.

     Finally she heard his steady footsteps, her hearing has been increased as well.  "Baby, are you alright?"  He said when she came into sight.

     His words were kind, his voice soft like talking to a child but she could sense his nerves.  "I'm fine, why?"

     "Something happened but I'm not sure what it was.  I'm here now to comfort you."  He opened his arms, expecting her to run to his embrace.  "I know you've been confused, but it's ok, I forgive you for avoiding me the past few days.  We're mates, you feel the pull to me, just as I feel it to you."

     "You forgive me?"  She couldn't believe how aggrogant he is.  Before she could say more, he tried to hug her.

     "Of course baby, anything for you."

     She pushed him away, "are you kidding me?  After everything you've done?  I don't forgive you!"

     "Awe, you will in time.  Why do you smell different baby?"  For the first time he took a good look at her.

     "I left Cresent Moon."  Athena waited for his reaction.

     "What!  Why would you do something so stupid?  Come on, let's go find Alpha and have him accept you back.  You don't smell like a rogue, though."

     "You've found the Alpha."  She watched his face, full of confusion.

     "What are you talking about?  Alpha Ryan isn't here.  I can't reach him."

     "You're talking to Alpha Athena."  His expression changed to outrage in a second.

     "What did you do?"  He screamed at her.

     "I created a new pack."

     "You can't do this!!  All my plans, all the crap I put up with?  I was meant to be Alpha,  not you!"  He started pacing back and forth, his hands gesturing wildly.

     "Sorry to put a damper on your plan to destroy this pack."  She wanted to get it over with, but her curiosity got the better of her.

     "I should've marked her years ago, then she wouldn't be defiant."  He muttered quietly, but she heard him.

     "Years ago?"  She sputtered, "you mean you KNEW I was your mate?"

     He abruptly stopped and glared at her, "I knew on my eighteenth birthday you were my mate."

     Athena saw red, "you knew I was your mate and you still raped and tortured innocent wolves?"  She punched him in the face.  "You knew for two years you were meant for me, and that's how you treat the mate bond?"  She hit him again, the force knocking him down.

     "I never tortured anyone, what are you talking about?"  He asked while on the ground and wiping his mouth.

     "You raped Emma James," he interrupted her.

     "Oh my Goddess, that fat cow?  I did her a favor, no other wolf would want her."  Athena kicked him in the stomach.  "What the fuck Athena!  Get off me.  I didn't do anything."
