Athena's Human Mate

Chapter 20

     "Are you hungry?"  Roman asked.

     "Starved, I haven't ate much the last few days."  She responded hesitantly.

     "I don't have much food here, we should go get something."  He stood up abruptly, "or do we need to stay here?  Can we go out?"

     "Yeah, we can go out, we need to stay near each other, the where we are doesn't matter.  It should be temporary."

     "Alright, let's go." 

     "Can I take a shower first?  I'm still wearing the clothes I had on last night."

     "I guess, I should probably take one too, want me to join you?"  He wagged his eyebrows at her suggestively.

     "Down boy," she laughed at him.  "Let me go grab some stuff from my truck, you can go first if you want."  She wondered if she could kiss him, then he beat her to it.

     "Hurry up."  He slapped her butt, making her jump.  She found out she liked it and smiled at him.

     Hey, it's Athena.  She mind-linked Emma on her way to the truck.

     Alpha!  Oh my Goddess, are you alright?

     Of course I am, I had to stay in town last night.  Something has come up and I'll be here a few days.

     Is there trouble?

     No, it's personal, I'd appreciate you keeping this to yourself.

     No problem, is there anything I can do?

     Yes, first, let the others know I'm fine and will be back soon.  Second, could you bring me some clothes?  I have some with me but I'm not sure how long this will take.

     Absolutely, where do you want me to bring them?

     Athena was hesitant about having her come here but she didn't want to bring Roman to the pack yet and it was too far to do it herself without harming him.  She gave Emma the address to his place.

     You can leave the bag in my truck, I'll leave the back door unlocked.

     Sounds good, I'm packing now so I should be there in about twenty minutes, maybe thirty.

     Roman was in the shower when she got back so she took the time to explore his small apartment.  The first room you walk into was the living room, which consisted of a TV and the couch.  To the right was the kitchen with a small round table in it.  She opened the cabinets, he was right about there not being any food.  She found a handful of mismatched dishes and some protein shakes.

     "Boo!"  Roman yelled behind her.

     "Hi," she turned to look at him.

     His wet hair was darker, a towel covered his privates, his chest glistening.  "I tried to scare you," he pouted.

     "I heard you coming."  Her gaze traveled up and down his body until his finger touched her chin.

     "Stop looking at me like that or you'll never eat."  A blush spread from her cheeks to her neck and he loved it.  "Go get cleaned up."  She nodded and dashed to the bathroom.
