As the new pack slowly arrived at the hotel, Linda was there to greet them. She repeated the same thing over and over. "We've rented a room for you and the conference room. Here's the key card, everyone should meet back in an hour. I've got sleeping bags and pillows in a truck outside to bring in."The families took individual rooms while Linda ushered the single she-wolves into the conference room. "I've arranged for dinner in about an hour, you will be staying here tonight, in sleeping bags. Alpha will be along later."
Stan Smith ushered his mate, Hailey, daughter and sons, fourteen year old Connor and twelve-year-old twins Aiden and Jayden to the room assigned to them. "Connor, can you take the boys down to the conference room?" He asked after they used the restroom.
"Why? What's going on Dad?" He never received any message from Athena or Artemis, he didn't understand why they left their pack.
"Just do it, I promise I'll explain everything to you." Stan looked his son in the eyes, "I'm asking you to trust me." His eyes held unshed tears, remorse and anger but Connor knew it wasn't directed at him. He shoved his brothers out the door, leaving his parents alone with his only sister.
Once the door was shut, Stan wrapped his arms tightly around Charlotte, weeping into her hair. "I'm so sorry baby. I'm sorry. I didn't protect you. I'm sorry. It's my fault."
Hailey joined the hug, sobs wracking her body, "my baby, my baby. Oh my Goddess," she whispered. "I love you baby."
After several minutes of holding each other and crying, Charlotte stepped back to look at them. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you."
"No, no, it's ok baby." Stan caressed her face, cupping her cheek. "I understand why you didn't. I would never have thought Alpha Ryan was involved with something this sinister."
"He doesn't deserve that title," Hailey spat out.
"I'll kill him," Stan said.
"No Dad, you can't," Charlotte objected.
"I'll kill them both for what they've done to you." Stan barely controlled himself but surprisingly, his wolf calmed him down.
I know exactly how you feel, I feel it too. We can't beat him, we'll be stopped at the border before we could get close to either of them and put in the cells. What do you think would happen to mate and the children if we die? All of us leaving will destroy him. Trust Alpha Athena and Artemis.
He needs to die!
Sam, his wolf, replied back, in due time he will. Let's focus on our daughter, her needs and this crazy situation.
Stan took a deep breath, "how can I help you?"
"I don't know, but now that you both know and believe me, we can do it together." Charlotte and Cora felt relief and comfort from her parent's embrace.
Justin Miller walked with his wife, Melissa, their sons Dylan, who was nine, Luke, six and their daughter Paisley. The shock still followed him, with being grateful Paisley was too young, at fourteen, to have fallen a victim like the other girls. At thirty-three, he didn't grow up with Thomas, he barely knew the guy existed. Ryan, however, had been his Alpha most of his life. He tried to stay under Ryan’s radar, he never liked how he treated Luna Michelle and other she-wolves. Both him and Melissa were happy to leave that pack and agreed they would help Alpha Athena in any way.
