Athena took a deep breath, her nerves getting the best of her when Roman reached over for her hand, rubbing his thumb back and forth.  Instantly the sparks and soothing motion calmed her.  "Everything will be fine sweetheart, with all your friends there, he won't dare be a problem.  And if he is I'll gladly kick his ass."

She laughed, "although I would love to see that, I pray nothing happens."  He kissed her finger, right above where his ring sat.  "I can't believe I let you talk me into this."

"Me?  You started it.  I didn't force you to sign up for all those events.  You did that on your own."

She groaned, "I know!  Ugh!  What was I thinking?"

"That you want to prove to everyone how great you are and rub your success in his face.  Which I approve of whole heartedly."

"Still, what if I can't watch yours because I'm busy with mine?"

He chuckled, "we aren't even there yet.  You can freak out after we check in."

She was glad he was driving, she kept second guessing herself the whole drive to Cold Moon Pack where the games would start tomorrow.  "You told the girls to contact you immediately if they find their mate?"

"Yes, for the hundredth time, relax, hopefully lots of mates will be found this year."

"There usually is, I'm just worried one of them will get rejected," she began ranting again.

"Sweetheart, they know what to do, have some faith in the Moon Goddess."

"Why?  She gave me asshole for a mate."

"Yeah, I'm sure she knew the human side of that prick would turn out that way."  He responded sarcastically.

"Why would you be on Her side anyway?"

"If things had been different, I wouldn't be your mate.  So, I am glad you kicked him to the curb.  I hate how much pain he put the girls through but at least something good came out of it."  He kissed her hand again, "I love you."

"I love you too, but pay attention to the road, we're almost there."

"Cold Moon's Alpha is Derek, he's part of the group who supported you leaving and his pack is in charge of this year's games.  Is your old pack ever in charge?"

Athena laughed, "no, the pack with the most overall points win and they're the host the next year.  Ryan won't allow she-wolves to participate, that leaves a lot of potential points for others."

"I don't get why he does that."

"Me neither but he's never cared about the games, only his own little bubble."

"What if we win?  Do we have enough room for everyone?"

"What makes you think we could win?  Even if the girls get first in their events, we don't have nearly the same amount of participants.  It's impossible but we should at least have a good showing.  You've worked hard with them this year.  The progress is nothing short of amazing."

"That's because I am amazing."  He said arrogantly, peeking a glance at her expression to see her smirking at him.  "Well it's true!"  She laughed and playfully smacked his shoulder.

Their arrival was chaotic, another pack got there at the same time and also had to be shown where to set up tents.  Each pack there was given an area that they could gather and relax.  Tape, ribbons and rope separated the spaces and the wolves were expected to stay out of each other's designated spot.  Unless permission was granted by the Alpha, which happened a lot when mates find each other or families reunite.  Breaking any rule resulted in various punishments, usually points were taken away or those involved were disqualified for the rest of the games.
