Athena's Human Mate

Chapter 4

Grandpa David, whom she calls Gramps, is the father of Michelle, Athena's mother. He was the Alpha of the Half Cresent Moon Pack, the current Alpha is Athena's cousin Jacob. He is twenty-two years old now and hasn't met his mate. Jacob's father is Micheal, he handed over the title last year. She hasn't seen that side of her family since the coronation.

Gramps was a very different Alpha from her father. Alpha David believes in treating females as equals or greater than the males at times. All she-wolves go through basic self defense training and are allowed to be warriors, if they pass the test. Athena knew there was at least ten of them.

She never got the whole story behind her parents meeting, but she understood enough to know her grandparents and her father didn't get along very well. Which is why she rarely had the opportunity to visit. Their pack was also a six hour drive from her pack. Not someplace to go for the day.

An hour into the drive Athena contacted her mother. Mom?

Athena, thank the Goddess you're alive!

Alive? Why wouldn't I be alive? If I were dead you would've felt it.

I know but Dad has been looking for you, he's very upset! He thought rogues got you!

Hardly, nice to know my parents have a lot of faith in me. I'm on the way to Half Cresent.

Why are you going there? Dad said your mate is Thomas, why aren't you with him?

Because of who it is, you think he's a good wolf but he's not.

Athena felt the love and worry come through the link she established with her mother. Telling her about the asshole now would not be a good idea. Michelle always believes the best about people. Athena will tell her when she gets the results back.

I'm not sure, might be a couple of weeks.

WEEKS?! Even through the mind, that hurt her ears. I thought maybe you needed a few days, but weeks? That's too long, the mate bond will make you suffer if you're apart that long.
