Athena didn't sleep well, she tossed and turned all night, more like all morning since it had been two am before she went to bed. If she wasn't thinking about how to get the DNA sample, she was thinking about punching the daylights out of her so called mate.

She got up around seven, still pondering her game plan. She had several ideas on how to proceed, now the task was to decide. Get the sample, get the results, confront both her father and Thomas. Easy, right? No, not at all.

She had to go home, knowing her father, soon he will send out guards to find her and drag her back. She could easily evade several warriors at once but she also had no desire to injure anyone. She pulled into her parking spot, taking a deep breath to calm her nerves before stepping out.

We will be fine. We are strong, it's not going to be easy but we will fight the matebond. I promise it will not break us.

Athena quietly crept up the stairs, avoiding the squeaky steps. Since it was still early, there were only a handful of wolves awake in the house. She was able to enter her floor and reach her room undetected.

After a long hot shower, she got dressed wearing a short skirt with hidden pockets and tight tank top. Normally, she wears comfortable conservative clothes, she never tried to attract attention. Being the Alpha's daughter was enough attention. Once she put on makeup, she was ready to face her nightmare.

She knew exactly where to find the asshole. He moved out of the packhouse a year ago and into one of the small houses, he said to prepare for his mate. Athena had her suspicions on the real reason he moved out and it had nothing to do with a mate.

She stood outside the door, wondering if she should knock or walk in. She could smell his delicious scent, she inhaled deeply, it was the only thing about him she liked. She blew out the breath she was holding and opened the door.
