I inhabit that area
Between dusk and dawn
Quiet and lonely
The nights are so long.
Not by choice in this
Dimension I dwell
Why I remain here
I'm not sure I can tell ...
Frustrations build
As the night wears on.
It wrestles with patience
To see which is more strong.
Between four and five
By the clock on the wall –
Is when the battle is greatest.
The victor – too close to call
Someday maybe
I'll have the courage to break free.
But for now - I guess
That's just how - it's going to be.
