I wish I was
A baker's boy ...
For my life would be -
Filled with joy.
Hot buttered bread
Biscuits to spare ...
Donuts, cookies and cakes
And my favorite ... éclair
Life would be good.
Life would be great!
If only my dad
Had learned to bake.
But I guess my dream
Isn't to be my fate.
For my father's in prison
And my mom's on a date.
But some day my life
Will be filled with joy.
For one day I'll have
My own baker's boy.
