Please don't speak to me of high ideals.
Don't whisper words of undying love.
I don't wish to hear of dreams tonight.
Just let me hear the words of kindness.
Words like comfort and warmth.
Of true friends and consideration.
Let me know you hold dear the emotions of
Forgiveness, understanding and compassion.
For through time these precious words
And phrases like 'I'll stand-with-you'
Will mean more to me than
Diamonds or gold.
Please allow a little room to be human.
Allow a bit for weakness and errors.
Be patient and tolerant
Kind and considerate.
A warm caring hug.
A simple "I understand".
A gentle touch, a warm sincere smile.
Are all we'll ever really need.
