"Come on, how long does it take to put every single peg on a litebright?" I mutter out to Eddie impatiently as we all kneel by Nancy's bed waiting for Dustin, Lucas and Erica to finish setting up the toy for us.

"A long ass time apparently." Eddie replies amusedly to my comment.

"-you guys seeing this?!" Dustin's voice echoes around us and the same kind of sparkly cloud from the downstairs chandelier appears in front of us.

Nancy reaches out and puts her hand in it, making the energy glow brighter.

The kids laughter of success echoes as she does it, and I smile at their excitement.

"We're gunna unplug it, standby!!" Dustin calls out again, and the energy cloud fades away a moment later, making us slightly discouraged.

I lean my head against Eddie's shoulder tiredly while we wait, in need of a nice long rest after a long ass couple of days.

"Try it now."

"Uhm, uhh..." Nancy stalls unsurely for a moment, then starts to spell out the word 'hi' in the light.

"Hii!!! That works!" Dustin's energetic voice calls back and we all squeal in success that their plan is working.

"Hi!" Eddie leans forwards excitedly, yelling out hi back to the kids even though they can't hear him.

"You can't get back through watergate?" Dustin asks us concernedly and we all sit for a moment trying to figure out how to respond to that.

"What the hell is watergate?" Steve looks over at us and Nancy and Eddie shrug.

"Cause it's in water and it's a gate."  Robin clarifies and we all ahhh in realization.

"Oh, that's cute." Eddie comments with a snort at Dustin's nickname for the gate, and I knock his shoulder with mine in amusement.

"Oh, umh no. It's-" Nancy slowly but surely spells out 'guarded' in the light in reply.

"Okay, um watergate's guarded..."

"Perfect, yes, yes!" Steve praises Dustin for understanding us.

"Okay, we think we have a theory that can help with that!" He tells us reassuringly and we all sigh in relief.

"Genius child."  I exclaim proudly as we wait and listen to my brother talk about another one of his many theories.

"Watergate isn't the only gate. There's a gate at every murder site!"

"Does anybody understand what he's talking about." Nancy tells us confusedly and we all shake our heads no.

Nancy then writes out a question mark in the light for clarification.

"Seriously, how many times do I have to be right on the money before you guys just trust me?!" Dustin throws another one of his hissy fits and we all are taken aback by his sudden attitude.

"Jesus Christ this kids gotta get his ego in check." Steve comments sassily at all of Dustin's yelling and Eddie looks over with a nod of agreement.

"It's his tone, right?" He asks, shaking his head and I smile at the two boys getting along.

"And the teenage hormones don't help either..." I add as I take over the light communication and start spelling out the word 'chill' in the sparkles with a smirk.

"Really Dylan? I know that's you asshole!" Dustin's squeaky voice yells out annoyedly and I chuckle in amusement, adding a heart at the end of the glowing message.

"Dylan, focus.  Okay so how far is your trailer?"  Nancy slaps my hand away from the sparkles, then looks over to ask Eddie.

"Seven miles..." he tells her hesitantly, not wanting to walk all the way there after our recent hike in the woods.

"Nancy, I know your house here is like weirdly creepily frozen in time and shit but haven't you always had bikes?" Robin asks curiously causing Nancy to light up in realization.

A few moments later we've raided the Wheeler garage and have set off towards Eddie's house.

Unfortunately for me, since little Holly Wheeler's tricycle was too small for me to ride I had to make do with sitting my butt on the handlebars and my feet in the basket of the bike Eddie took.

I'm gripping on for dear life as Eddie drives at a scarily fast speed to keep up with the rest of the group.

"You doing okay up there?" Eddie asks mischievously as we drive and I hum in reassurance.

"I'm alright, just try not to crash please!" I tell him nervously, trying not tho think about how unsafe this is right now.

"Anything for you darling." He reassures, then starts swerving the bike left and right goofily as I squeal anxiously.

"You asshole!" I yell back at him as my knuckles hold on to the handlebars to tightly my knuckles turn white.

"Don't worry, I've got you." He teases softly, going back to riding smoothly. God this is going to be a long ride.
