"And then, Vicky laughed

"And then, Vicky laughed. And it wasn't a cheap fake laugh either, it was like a real genuine laugh!" Robin gushes about her interaction with her crush last night at the basketball game while Steve and I shelve vhs tapes.

"Of course she laughed, Robin. It's my muppet joke, it's hilarious." Steve brags casually and I snort, earning an offended look from Steve.

"I'm still annoyed I missed Tammy Thompson singing the national anthem. That would've been priceless." I butt in, pouting as I put copies of sixteen candles onto the shelf.

"It was priceless, and the point is Vicky laughed. And everything was just perfect..." Robin continues as she wipes down tapes with disinfecting wipes.

"But?" Steve raises his eyebrows questioningly.

"But I have this problem where it's like I should stop talking..." Robin continues to anxiously word vomit to Steve who's so over it and I zone out as I continue to stock my side of the shelves and straighten out other vhs tapes.

"I want to stop digging, and I'm trying to stop digging and I'm doing it right now aren't I?" Robin groans to Steve about her almost outing herself to Vicky.

"Yep!" I comment from the other side of the isle and I hear her sigh loudly as I giggle to myself at Robin's dramatics.

"I'm hopeless." Robin says defeatedly as she leans against one of the giant movie signs.

Steve comes up and leans next to her and I finish stocking shelves to come up and lean besides Steve with a sympathetic smile.

"We all are." Steve adds with a dejected look and I nod in agreement, leaning my lean against Steve's shoulder tiredly.

"If only we could just like... combine." Robin comments thoughtfully and I look over at her with a confused look.

"Do you need a break from the cleaning supply fumes?" I ask her hesitantly as she locks her fingers together.

"No, think about it. I know exactly what I want, and I've found the girl of my dreams but I just can't get the courage to ask her out."

Steve hums in agreement and I listen in curiously.

"Meanwhile, Steve goes on a million dates and has no idea what he wants." Robin pats his shoulder softly.

"Mmhhmm." Steve hums in confirmation as Robin continues.

"And you don't have the experience or a clue about what you want whatsoever, even though you have plenty of options..." Robin points to me and I grumble in denial at her comment.

"So if we'd just combined, all of our problems would be solved! Because I mean alone, let's face it, we totally suck..."

"We totally do, don't we?" I wince with a smile and Steve chuckles in agreement.
