"This place is insane." I mutter out in awe as we enter the army surplus warehouse and look around at the endless amounts of survival gear strewn about on shelves and racks.
"Yeah, so much for avoiding angry hicks..." Robin comments dryly as we notice how busy this place is. Practically all of Hawkins is here trying to stock up.
"Let's be... fast." Nancy tells us and we all nod in agreement.
"Definitely." Erica nods seriously, looking like she's on a mission.
Suddenly we all step into action, splitting off in separate directions to gather supplies and tools for our mission.
Putting my Walkman headphones around my neck, war pigs blasts on repeat in the background as I follow behind Steve and Robin while they start to put gallons of lighter fluid into a shopping cart.
"How many of these things do you think we need?" Robin asks, looking over at Steve as he changes into a fresh t shirt and a rad looking pilot jacket.
"Five or six." He tells her once he's done, starting to help put the heavy cans into the cart.
"Here goes my entire college apartment savings. You'd think because we saved the world more than once we'd get paid or something." I comment dryly as I toss some expensive padded chest armor and large roll of bandages into our shopping cart.
"Yeah, tell me about it." Steve chuckles in agreement looking over at me the same moment I spot someone familiar in the isle over.
"Holy shit, it's your girlfriend." I whisper shout over to Robin and she freezes in her tracks as I point out her crush looking at different pepper sprays by herself.
"What are you gunna do Robin, just stand here and gawk at her?" Steve teases and Robin hits him in the chest as she stares at the pretty girl.
"Just shut up." Robin snaps, hyping herself up to go over there and talk to her but before she can an older guy comes up behind Vickie and scares her with a grin.
All three of us watch in shock as the guy leans down and kisses Vickie passionately. My heart absolutely breaks for Robin as I look over and see the hope dim in her eyes.
"Robin..." I grab her hand softly as she continues to stare but soon Vickie stops kissing her mystery boyfriend and looks over to notice Robin standing there.
Robin quickly shakes off my touch and runs away embarrassedly. Both me and Steve call after her with concerned looks.
"I'll go check on her, go get changed so we can get the hell out of here." Steve tells me softly and I nod with a slight frown. I really hoped that Vickie would be the one for Robin, she deserves someone to love and adore her as much as we do.
After a couple minutes scanning the racks of different army uniforms, I grab a pair of baggy camouflage cargo pants off a hanger and quickly slip them on over my skirt and ripped tights.
