Part 7|The Spirit

I honestly hate this. I don't want to be in power. I don't want this. I ran out the coffee shop realizing that I don't remember whether home is left or right... that 'wondrous' girl came up behind me. "You lost?" She said. It scared me and I jumped "is that you no name?" I said kind of jokingly but scared. She grabbed me "what's your address stranger?" I must've had a weird confused face cause she said ".. I don't know your name remember?" I was confused of what to say "uh I'm-" I stuttered but she cut me off "I'll call you gem cause you must be a gem to get this kind of power." This woman... she's... weird...

  "My home.. the address is 123 on dfdfb street" I said. "Since your blind with no sense of direction.. I'll take you I have google maps!" She said excitingly "why are you so excited no name?" I said. "Wondrous." She corrected me. "Right wondrous.. cause you've always 'wondered what your name is' right?" I responded. "Yeah.." she mumbled. Despite first impressions this girl.. seems nice. "Cmon let's move I want to go home!" I jokingly yelled. She slightly tugged me "ok it's this way" she said. We walked along the street and I know I couldn't see but I could feel peoples stares and hear their murmurs "what are they doing with that young girl?" "What are they like 16-17 with that 12-13 year old?" "Oh what a nice girl helping that blind man" I heard everywhere "do.. do you hear that wondrous?" I asked. "Hear what?" She asked back. "The things their saying..." I said worried. "What do you mean? Who's saying?" She asked. "Everyone around us" I said. "No one's talking." She answered. Uh that's totally not weird at all.

We finally made it to my house "we're here. Go inside gem." She said. "Thank you wondrous. I would be dead maybe got ran over by a car hahaha." I joked. "Ok byeeeeee" she walked off. I got inside and tried going on my phone. Then I realized I'm fucking blind and can't see what's on my phone. I was gonna play music but I don't know my phone so well to know how to play music blind. "Alexa play a random song" I shouted at my Alexa "playing blinded by the lights by the weekend" the device said robotically. (Not fucking sponsored) the music started playing "oooooh I'm blinded by the light.. but I can't see until I feel your touch." and I just lied in bed zoning off thinking about how life is gonna turn out. Would I see again? Is this power even true? Why'd I pick up THE FUCKING BOOK. I hate myself honestly I have to do all this because I was curious about a book on the side of the fucking road. "Alexa stop" I shouted. "Ok" it responded in its suffocating robot voice.

I fell asleep and woke up to my alarm. I tried turning it off but since I couldn't see I didn't know what to press so I just pressed random places on my phone till it turned off. I sighed got up and realized... how tf do I get dressed. I took off my blindfold to see if my vision got better. It got worse everything is bright as if I died and went to heaven. I put it back on and just said to myself that I'd wear the same clothes and stay home since I have no where to go. I just kind of use this time to meditate and make sure I'm calm especially cause I'm overwhelmed with the possibilities of this thing. I heard a knock on my door. I got up and slowly walked to my door and opened it. "It's me!" Wondrous said. "No name?" I asked "Wondrous." She corrected me. "Right." I replied. "Can I come in?" She asked. "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh why?" I asked. "To help you, as I told you my grandmother had owned this book before." She walked in and said "why do you leave your bedroom door open? Do you live alone?" "No it's opened cause I opened it to open the front door." I replied. I could hear her walk into my room and pick up the book. "Hm interesting what if I.." I heard her say. Then I heard a loud ringing.

"Be carful wondrous!" I shout. But it was too late. I heard her scream "IT HURTS! ITS SO BRIGHT! AHHHH!" Her voice suddenly stopped and I was frozen in fear. I slowly started walking to my room gaining speed as I get closer. "WONDROUS ARE YOU THERE" I screamed. I touched her now lifeless body. "Hey- Hey please please answer me wondrous, please please I can't do this without you please..." I started slightly crying while talking. Then I couldn't hold back I got on my knees crying. Honestly it wasn't because it was wondrous who died it's because I might've just heard someone just fucking die and I felt more lost. "No.. No NONONONONO" I felt my tears evaporate off my face and I slowly floated off the ground. "NONONO I NEED ANSWERS I NEED THE HELP I NEED THAT GIRL" I screamed in anger and distress. I felt the blindfold lift off my face and everything was bright, brighter than before. "COME BACK COME BACK COME BACK!" The brightness turned into darkness and my body fell back down. I opened my eyes. "Gem? Are you there?" I heard her voice. "No name?" I said weakly. "Wondrous.. it's wondrous gem." She said in a slightly crying voice shaking me gently. I opened my eyes and I saw her but she wasn't her, I still saw her dead body sitting on the floor holding the book but the her talking to me was a ghost. "I CAN SEE, I CAN SEE YOU! I CAN FEEL YOU WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK."  I screamed In terror. "Calm down. You were powerful enough to enscript that you would gain the ability to see, feel and talk to spirits." She reassured me. "I did what!?"
