I held onto my lunch tray, my headphones around my neck as I walked into the crowded cafeteria. There was chatter amongst the whole room, but the loudest voice amongst them all was Eddie's. I looked over, noticing he was stood on a table.
"As long as you're into band... or science... or parties, or a game where you toss balls into laundry baskets!" He called.
I stopped in my tracks, looking over over at the jocks, who he was yelling to.
"You want something, freak!" Jason yelled back, now standing up from his seat.
As a response, Eddie pulled some face, laughing afterwards with no shame. Jason stared at him before he walked back to his seat as he whispered the word 'prick'.
I watched Eddie walk back and jump off of the table, yelling one last thing, then suddenly stepping back and allowing a pair of cheerleaders to walk past. Maybe he was a gentleman at heart.
"Florence, over here!"
I looked around the cafeteria to where the noise came from at the jock's table, no Chrissy in sight. Of course, the voice belonged to Andy. I sighed, deciding to walk over to the table."Hey," Jason said as I placed my lunch tray in between Jason and Lucas Sinclair, and unfortunately opposite Andy.
I awkwardly smiled before crossing my arms, looking to my left at Lucas, sending him a warm smile in which he returned.
"Eddie's such a freak, right Florence?" Andy said with a mouthful of food.
I cringed at his lack of table manners before responding, "I guess...I don't know."
"What do you mean, you don't know?" Jason said laughing.
"I mean, Eddie Munson is not that bad." I instantly regretted what I said as I looked back down at my food.
"Not that bad huh?" Andy began.
"Guess that's why you ran off with him after you kissed me at the party, all you do is lead people on," he said angrily.Half of the table snickered as a response.
"I kissed you? Funny," I said.
"She probably has a crush on him," one of them sneered.
"What?" I said, furrowing my eyebrows.
"Why don't we take you over to him right now!" Chance said slyly, gesturing over to Eddie, who had just pushed two freshman from the table like lost sheep and sat back down at his seat.
"Great idea," Andy hissed.
Chance and Andy stood up, each of them pulling me up from my seat, wrapping their arms around my shoulders, blocking me from any movement. I looked down at Lucas, a guilty look plastered on his face as he looked back at me. I shook my head before leaving the table as I got forcibly led to the table of said freaks.
"Hey Munson! We've got a new toy for you," Andy taunted as we got closer to his direction.
He looked up, raising an eyebrow, then looking at the grip that they had around my shoulders.
"What are you doing?" He challenged them, looking from me and back up at the two jocks.
"Your girlfriend here wanted to come see you," Chance said, trying not to laugh.
"I mean we're guessing she's your girlfriend because you've obviously already fucked her anyway, I mean, why else would she be defending you like her life fucking depends on it," Andy spat.
My jaw tensed as tried even harder release myself from their grip.
"Look, I suggest you both fuck off right now," Eddie said as he stood up from his seat, placing his hand which was accessorised with several rings, as usual, on Andy's arm, ripping it off of me. "Now."
At this, I felt the weight of their arms leave my shoulders.
"Whatever, freak," They both turned around, putting there arms up mockingly in defence, eyeing Eddie and I before walking back to their table.
Once again, I stood there helplessly. I looked up quickly at Eddie, who was staring down at me.
"What was that about?" He asked, still standing above me, looking down at me as he spoke.
"Andy's still pissed about that fucking party incident," I said as I looked at his white shoes.
"And this is why I hate god damn parties," he said, rolling his eyes.
I sighed as I looked back over to the basketball team, glaring at them before storming off, leaving Eddie to his loser group. I placed my headphones back on my head as my vision became blurry with tears.
