After Eddie and I left his trailer, we made our way over to Max's trailer across the street. I sat on a chair, everyone staring at me intently as I explained what had happened as the sunlight was shining through the floral curtains, lighting up the room.
I'd told them about Vecna, who I'd learnt went by the name Henry, and all of the events leading up to him restraining me as he showed me visions. I felt nervous as everyone watched me, but I continued to explain, "He showed me things that haven't happened yet."
I avoided any eye contact as I spoke, looking down at my fingers as I fidgeted.
"The most awful things... I saw a dark cloud, spreading over Hawkins," my voice was slightly shaky as I spoke, but I averted my eyes up to the group, making eye contact with Eddie's brown irises, instantly comforting me as I gathered my thoughts and continued to covert them into words.
"Downtown on fire. Dead soldiers. And this... giant creature, with a- a gaping mouth. And this creature wasn't alone. There were so many monsters..." I said as I replayed each of the visions that Vecna showed me in my mind.
"...An army. And they were coming into Hawkins. Into our neighbourhoods. Our homes. And then... he showed me my dad... and Eddie," I explained. "They were both-"
I cut myself off, taking a deep shaky breath.
"What do you mean?" Eddie spoke up, confused.
"Just forget it, it doesn't make sense. There's no way Hawkins and the upside down can just merge like that, and he's obviously just trying to scare me. I won't let it get to me," I said, trying to brush the vision that I saw off.
The truth was, I saw them both unconscious. Laying on the floor, eyes blank, life sucked out of them. But I wasn't going to tell him that, because it wasn't going to happen, he wasn't going to die.
"You're right," Steve said. "He's just trying to scare you Florence, I mean, it's not real."
"Not yet," Nancy chimed in, her voice low and in a slight whisper.
We all stared at her for a moment before another vision came to me. I took a deep breath before I spoke up once again, "But there was something else."
Everyone was looking at me again, eyebrows furrowed. "He showed me gates... Four gates. Spreading across Hawkins. And these gates, they looked like the one outside of Eddie's trailer, but... they didn't stop growing. And this wasn't the Upside down Hawkins, this was our Hawkins. Our home."
The room was awfully tense, my words leaving the room confused and speechless.
"Four chimes," Max suddenly spoke. "Vecna's clock. It always chimes four times."
My eyes immediately widened and I nodded my head, "I heard them too. Four exactly."
The room fell silent once again for a few moments, everyone speechless, mouths gaping in shock.
"He's been telling us his plan this whole time," Max said.
"Four kills," Lucas quaked, nervousness evident in his voice. "Four gates... End of the world."
"If that's true," Dustin announced, "He's only one kill away."
My breath hitched as Eddie put his hands into his palms in distress, "Oh jesus Christ. Jesus Christ."
"Try 'em again. Try 'em again," Steve insisted, Max standing up and walking over to the phone, picking it up as she dialled in a number.
As the phone rang tediously, the rest of us sat in despair. I fixed my eyes onto Eddie, and as he looked up at me, I gave him a reassuring look. Even though I wasn't sure if everything was going to be okay, I wanted him to know that it would be.
