Phoebe knew who Eddie Munson was, of course she did considering her brother wouldn't stop bragging about his new found friendship in the very much older boy. She also knew he had failed multiple times as graduating and as she looked back over to the boy she felt a slight pang of pity. He was watching her, a new graduate something he probably dreamed of for so long.

She looked down blushing as he turned again catching her staring straight at him.

Eddie hadn't planned to enter the diner that night, he had a deal planned with some rich guy from school but he never showed so Eddie decided to enter the diner instead of waiting in his van all night maybe get a milkshake and smoke the weed for himself as a big fuck you to the blow off guy.

But when he entered he never expected to see Phoebe Wheeler sat alone. He literally had the biggest crush on her in high school and now he was friends with her little brother he thought he may finally have a chance, but his chance never came. It was always the other twin to pick up Mike after meetings and he wasn't able to share any words with Phoebe. He knew this was his opportunity.

He slid a ten over the counter smiling sweetly at the lady "Hey darling what can i do for you?"

"Two strawberry milkshakes please." He said, she nodded collecting the bill before he stopped her "Ill also take two of those brownies please - those are to go though please!"

"Sure thing sweetheart." Eddie glanced back noticing Phoebe was eyeing his back her eyes full of wonder and when she spotted him her cheeks blazed red and she looked away.

He smirked as the woman, Claire, slid over his milkshakes and the brownies in a little bag, she handed him a $1 "Thank you!" He grinned.

He slid the brownies into the pocket of his jacket before bringing the milkshakes over to the booth the lonely girl was seated in.

She looked up at him her brows furrowed as he slid the milkshake over to her and sat opposite her swirling his straw around.

"Sorry i'm late sweetheart." He smiled, he didn't know what came over him he just knew he needed to stop the judgemental glares she was starting to get.

"Eddie." She smiled taking the milkshake gratefully "Thank you."

"It's no problem!" He said rather excitedly, purely over the fact she even knew his name.

"How much do i owe you?" She whispered.

"Nothing at all." He smiled "So what's a pretty girl like you doing out here this late all alone?"

She nervously swirled the straw before taking a sip "I uhm.. I kinda got stood up." His face scrunched up at her words, he couldn't understand why anyone would want to stand a girl such as herself up.

He tried to make a joke out of the clearly broke girl "Well that makes both us"

"You had a date?!"

He flung his hand to his chest "You sound so surprised someone like me would have a date? Why's that because i'm the freak."
